Fic Recs - Doctor Who : Eleventh Doctor era
Since the second half of Doctor Who series six started last Saturday, I think now's a good a time to spread the word about the amazing fic that can be found in this fandom. Seriously, some of the most inspiring uplifting stuff can be found in the world of Doctor Who. So here's a few of my favourite Eleventh Doctor era fics to celebrate the return of the series. I really hope you enjoy them as much as I do :)

A great look at the Doctor for once getting what his companions need and bonding Rory in the process. This never fails to make me feel better and warm. Absolutely recommended to everyone. Perfection.

This is one of my OT3s and the author does them so well, with a light and fun touch and best of all, with the Doctor not in control of the situation at all. I always have the biggest grin on my face after reading this. They feel so right together, especially in this fic.

"You're very bad children, the both of you."
This manages to be both incredibly funny and incredibly hot too. The imagery is great - Amy & Rory acting like naughty kids and the Doctor threatening to discipline them both. It's such a great read and hits the kinks so nicely. I'm kinda (not so) secretly hoping that the author writes more in this 'verse because from this fic alone, I'd love to read more :)

I love these two so much and this is a great short fic that's packed with atmosphere and details and how their day-to-day life could be together. And their feelings for each glow softly in the most perfect way. Highly recommended.

She hates the stories that start that way. They always end in the same boring fashion, cut and fade to black and happily ever afters. None of that is real.
I love the way the author constructs the Doctor and River's relationship. It feels real and raw and so very them. There's a real satisfying beauty and realism to the whole thing. I like to think that in some universe, it was this way.

"Tonight, we're going out."
The last real time that River gets with the Doctor, and she doesn't know it. It's laced with bittersweetness and makes my heart ache. To see them have this wonderful special time together with the Doctor knowing what he knows.....oh, it's something really fantastic.

Because stories are not lies
A really great character study of River and how she unravells the Doctor. There are great glimpses into off-screen adventures that I'd love to see. It really gets River so fantastically. She's no perfect paragon, she's fractured, and I love it.

The Doctor and River have a nice fireside chat and don't destroy the universe. Well done them.
I love how the two of them constantly fish for information from each other as well as trying to avoid spoilers. It's a great conversation and really nails their voices. This is them at their bantering best with the terrific edge of foreshadowing that always haunts them. It makes me shiver.
