Fic Recs - Hawaii Five-0 (2010)
Because I've been meaning to do this for ages, and I adore the show. It's hot funny bantery slashy goodness, and everyone should give it a chance. Also, I'm feeling sick so I wanted to do something that'd make me feel better :)
1. Island Comforts by ariadnes_string Gen/Pre-slash Danny & Steve
Steve is caring. It’s a little scary.
The boys' voices are perfect, as poor Danny is ill and tries to cope with Steve efficiently looking after him. It's sweet and adorable and spikily them.
2. Untitled by twentysomething PG-13, Steve/Danny
It's raining a lot. The boys argue, of course, and then there's smexy kissing.
Seriously, read this. It's hot and delicious and sly and funny.
3. Comfort Levels by leupagus NC-17, Steve/Danny
It turns out knowing that Steve’s breath catches whenever you press teeth against his throat doesn’t mean he can’t still make you want to murder him whenever he launches himself off a roof in pursuit of a suspect or decides there’s not enough time to put on his vest before busting into a meth lab and beating people up.
The boys don't have a word for what they are to each other. Silly boys. They work it out ;)
4. Four Times Nobody Noticed It Was a Date, and One Time There Wasn’t Any Doubt by t_fic PG, Danny/Steve
Two part of this are up so far and they're vivid and awesome. I love where this is going. Chin and Kono are there also and are just as wonderful.
5. Ain't Gotta Flaunt For Me by robanybody Kono/Danny, Steve/Chin
Kono's family keeps setting her up on dates, but she winds up hanging out with Danny anyway. He loves her shoes and her in them.
Not a pairing I even thought of working, but it works so well here. I love Kono. She feels incredibly real. And I ended up loving her & Danny.
6. Single Handed, Took Me Alive by twentysomething Girl!Danny/Steve
Chin had insisted on post-meth-lab-bust drinks and then promptly split with their hot waitress as soon as her shift was over and Kono had "gone to the bathroom" five rounds and three shots ago. Which leaves her and Steve and Danni's terrible urge to nail her boss.
AU - obviously - funny and bantery with Danny & Steve being at each other's throats and getting into each other's pants also. I'm not a fan of genderswap fics, but alwaysagirl!Danny is perfect here. Seriously fun and raging hot fic.
