Just when I was afraid I wouldn't have anything to talk about, I suddenly have the opportunity to skip the country.
The wedding of my college chums, Adib and Ale, has been moved up - DRAMATICALLY. There was supposed to be a big wedding in November, and I was just about to start looking into the arrangements of going down to Mexico for the event, but when two spontaneous people have too much time on their hands, they get to talking. When they get to talking, something crazy is usually the topic of the conversation. Crazy, like getting married in a week instead of several months. Since they just could not wait any longer, they're holding a smaller ceremony this weekend, and because we were such good friends back then, and because I did sort of fix them up, they apparently felt the need to insist that I come, and help with the travel arrangements. Not only would it be culturally rude of me to decline without good reason, it would be very nice to get away for a little while.
They're setting me up with a nice place to stay and paying for the majority of my expenses; all I have to drop everything and get ready to leave on Wednesday.
So here I am, scrambling to keep up with two very spontaneous people. I can't even adequately express my confusion/concern/excitement over all this, with my brain running cycles to think of everything I need to get/do/pack.
