The Presidents
George Washington to George W. Bush
THE PRESIDENTS
When I first stumbled on this video series, I was fascinated by the historical aspect of it. It got me thinking about the U.S. Mint's
Presidential $1 Coin Series that honor our Nation's Presidents by issuing $1 coins featuring their images in the order they served in office.
I'm quite sure most numismatists are planning to collect the entire series. But I have to wonder after watching these videos if a novice collector would be influenced to purchase just a few of their "favorite" presidents. Perhaps a collection of president's identified as our Founding Fathers: John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and George Washington.
Warren G. Harding, coined the phrase "Founding Fathers" in his keynote address to the 1916 Republican National Convention. He used it several times thereafter, most prominently in his 1921 inaugural address as President of the United States.
So who is your favorite president? Do you have one? Are you collecting the presidential dollar coins? Inquiring minds want to know.
Now on with the documentary
THE PRESIDENTS is an unprecedented eight-part survey of the personal lives and legacies of the remarkable men who have presided over the Oval Office. From George Washington to George W. Bush, THE PRESIDENTS gathers together vivid snapshots of all 43 Commanders in Chief who have guided America throughout its history--their powerful personalities, weaknesses, and major achievements or historical insignificance.
