FUN Photos
We decided to do something a bit different at the 2012 Summer FUN show. Yes, I heard that “voice”. You know the one that said “If you build it, they will come” and convinced Donna & FUN’s Director of Youth Activities Tony Bonaro to have some Photo FUN with me.
Okay, so maybe I was having a “Field Of Dreams” flashback moment. But like the character of Ray Kinsella and his family who built a baseball diamond in Iowa, we threw caution to the wind and created a make shift photo station where FUN Convention guests could take a moment and “get a little silly”.
Well, I think Every Picture Tells A Story and I have plenty of stories to tell here. Our Photo Station was a hit and a FUN time was had by all. Just look at some of these pictures.

The first two photographs feature Joe and his son Nick. I had an opportunity to talk to Joe numerous times during Summer FUN. Joe supports Nicks numismatist endeavors and hopes to see Nick enter an exhibit at our FUN Convention in January. I know Bob Russell would be thrilled to have more Young Numismatists exhibit, so I hope that happens.
Stephanie is featured in photos 4 through 7. I met Stephanie at the Y/N meeting last Summer. She was there with her Grandfather who is trying to encourage Stephanie's numismatic interest. Like I always say, we need more women in numismatics. :D

I met Ryan and Carson at the Y/N meeting earlier in the morning and was happy to see them both stop by the Minor Details FUN Photo booth. Heather was pretty as a picture styling in her feather boa!

Harrison, Jess, Christopher, Benjamin, Steven, Adam, & Noah were at FUN to attend the Boy Scout Merit Badge Clinic. But that didn't stop them from hamming it up at the Minor Details FUN Photo Booth!
FUN board member Gary Braisted escorted Alana & Jack (photos 9-13) to the FUN Photo booth from Public Registration. Both were happy to comply with silliness. I hope they had a great time at the show.
Nia and Erica (photos 14-16) were adorable in their tiaras & bling! At the end of the photo shoot I couldn't get them off their heads. For the rest of the show Nia and Erica could be seen looking rather regal in their tiaras on the bourse floor. :)

I had a blast posing the Nguyen family (photos 1-4) who really had fun with all the props. In fact, Mr. Nguyen uploaded the pictures to his Facebook and invited all his friends to come on down to the show for some photo FUN! Desiree was a riot S-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g that dollar!
It was my third time photographing and speaking to Nate at the FUN Show. We first met at Summer FUN in 2011 and Nate hasn't missed a show since. It was lovely to meet his grandparents (photos 6 & 8) who escorted Nate on Friday. Nate is new to coin collecting and we talked about that on Saturday after the Y/N meeting. FUN Convention TV interviewed Nate for our series Minor Details: A Young Numismatists Perspective on Coin Collecting which will appear on fun_forums and our FUN Convention TV YouTube channel very soon.
It is always exciting to see young women interested in numismatics (Dehra photo 5) and Madison who posed with Alex (photos 7,9 & 10) who was working that money jacket just as hard as Madison waived her magic money wand! They were old pros at posing for the camera and a lot of FUN! :D

Justin (photo 1&5) started collecting coins at age 6. He never misses the FUN show and volunteers to work as a page during the show. Justin competed with other Young Numismatists in January, his exhibit on mercury dimes winning second place in the Y/N Division at the FUN Show. FUN Convention TV interviewed Justin for our series Minor Details: A Young Numismatists Perspective on Coin Collecting which will appear on fun_forums and our FUN Convention TV YouTube channel in the coming months. We look forward to seeing Justin back on the bourse floor in January.
Ethan, Issac, Jeremy(Photos 2,3,6 & 8) were probably tired of seeing me and my camera, because I shot them at the Y/N meeting too. Hey! What can I say? I was drawn to cute little Issac in his Justin Beiber shirt! Baby, Baby, Baby Ohhhhhh! Any fan of Justin is a friend on mine! :p So I was glad to see them pop over to the Minor Details FUN Photo Booth.
Abigail (photos 4,8,9 & 10) I feel like Abigail and I are old friends. We met at Y/N meeting in January where I photographed her with her friends Trevor & Ryan. ::points to links with photos:: & again at the Girl Scout/Boy Scout Merit Badge clinic which she attended with other Girl Scouts from troop 704. Abigail has a real interest in coins and you can feel her excitement when you talk to her about them. I was surprised to find out that Abigail was exhibiting at Summer FUN and couldn't wait to hear about her exhibit. FUN Convention TV interviewed Abigail for our series Minor Details: A Young Numismatists Perspective on Coin Collecting which will appear on fun_forums and our FUN Convention TV YouTube channel in the coming months. I look forward to seeing Abigail and her mother Megan in January.
