➢ She can secrete a chemical capable of melting through glass. This makes it easy for her to break into people's houses. ♥ She also uses it to soften things to make them easier to eat, since she doesn't bother cooking her meals.
➢ Saya is a troll. "I looked through the patient lists and found the ones who have mental problems. Sometimes I sneak into their rooms late at night and scare them. Even if they raise a big fuss, no one believes what mental patients say. They just brush it off as a bad dream."

Ougai, the first human she came in contact with, describes her body as "not fibrous, but reticulated. In other words, it is an extremely tough substance that expands and contracts not in one direction, but in all directions."

➢ Bullets from a pistol will not be very effective, though a shotgun or a much more powerful sort of explosive can do some damage. What kills her in the novel is a combination of liquid nitrogen, which freezes her and renders her incapable of sealing her wounds, and the shotgun, which destroys a very good portion of her body.

The process itself isn't painful, but it's a horrifying sensation, and the person is likely to lose consciousness before the feeling drives them mad.
