f_i_x_m_e ~~~ Finishing a fic at the last minute is like wrapping gifts at the last minute. It may be shoddy craftsmanship, but it's the content that counts!
After an awkward night of too much eggnog and peppermint soju (bad combo, by the way), being dryhumped by a literally horny GD (wearing reindeer antlers) infront of their friends and colleagues, and watching virtually all his dongsaengs get completely sloshed after papa YG left and all the crazy antics that went on following that, Seunghyun was ready to call it a night. Hell, he was getting too old for this. Maybe. Okay, maybe a few more years. Then, definitely too old.
YG Family parties always resulted in the same things. The sunbaes calling it an early night like responsible adults, and then all the kids (apart from the managers who stayed behind to maintain some semblance of order) let loose.
He'd admit, it was damn amusing to watch Seungri use YB as a human stripper pole, while said YB (who, true to form, hadn't touched a drink) giggled himself stupid, others catcalling. Luckily the magnae wasn't quite coordinated enough to remove even his shirt successfully, though he did try, comically and much to Youngbae's chagrin, who then proceeded in (soberly) removing his very own shirt and Seungri all but molested him while YB had the gall to look shy. In the meantime, Daesung had drunken himself to the point where he began talking to a potted poinsettia. Pretty typical though.
“It ain't cute when you have a red nose, Rudolph...” he chuckled, Jiyong draped across his lap on the cab ride back to the dorm (Seunghyun, being the one who'd had enough of the festivities for one night, was the lucky one elected to return completely-sloshed and half-passed out, overly affectionate leader-shii home), looking utterly fascinated at playing with his jacket buttons, and grinning unabashedly as he only ever did when he was completely wasted. His reindeer headband was lopsided, matching his smile.
“Shut it, I'm always cute,” he grinned some more, no bite left in his tone, then cupped the back of his head and pulled him down for a sloppy kiss.
Seunghyun pulled back, grimacing, “Yah, what did you drink?!”
GD just scrunched his eyes closed as they passed a streetlight, turning and burying his face into the front of Seunghyun's jacket. After a minute or so, he could tell he was completely out.
“Aish...” Seunghyun let his head fall back against the headrest, and hoped that the ride would be over soon so he could crawl into his nice soft bed, hug his stuffed animals, and not have Jiyong sleeping in his lap. That was his grown-up Christmas list.
Unfortunately, Saint Nicholas wasn't so generous, or maybe Seunghyun had accidentally been put on the naughty list, because that was not what he was gifted with.
Upon opening the door, now-awake and suddenly energetic Jiyong stumble-pulled him to sit on the sofa, and with a forceful shove, instructed him to stay there, on no uncertain terms. “Hyung, stay there.” Then he skittered off with a creepy smile, socks sliding on the floor and narrowly missing braining himself on the kitchen doorframe, and altogether leaving Seunghyun there in a way that was unsettling.
Pulling his legs up and hugging them to his chest, Seunghyun yawned against his knee, and was nearly asleep in said position when he cracked an eye open to see Jiyong bringing a large, steaming mug into the room at a wobbly-slow pace, yet holding it with a somehow steady hand.
“What the...”
“I made hot chocolate~~~ But there was only one packet so we have to share~” Jiyong sing-songed.
Rubbing at his eyes, Seunghyun shifted over and decided to entertain his antics. Jiyong got like this, all 'clingy' (often accompanied by a sugar raid), when he was drunk, and it was best to just go with it. Afterwards, he would put him to bed soundly, then welcome sleep himself.
Jiyong settled next to him, making a deliberate show of pulling a handful of little marshmallows from the front pocket of his hoodie and dropping them into the hot chocolate, then taking a long sip and pulling back with a satisfied sigh. Then he passed the mug to him but insisting on holding it and tipping it ever-so with a goofy grin while Seunghyun had some.
“Aish-” his hands steadied the mug around Jiyongs fingers, returning it upright after he was made to take a considerably large gulp, sticking his tongue out, “It's friggin' hot Ji!”
“Is it?” Jiyong looked at him through disturbingly half-lidded eyes, lashes fluttering ever so as he seemed to blink in slow motion.
“Y-yeah...” voice cracking, Seunghyun cleared his throat, using that moment to gently pry the mug of piping-hot beverage from Jiyong's fingers, recieving no protest. He set it on the coffee table, insisting that it cool.
“I'm hot...” Jiyong said, at the same time peeling off his hoodie and setting it beside himself on the sofa, leaving him in a thin tank top.
Don't ask him why, maybe a defensive/compulsive maneuver, but that prompted Seunghyun to grab for the throw blanket at the end of the sofa and wrap himself up in it.
“Hyung...” Jiyong shifted closer, delicately slipping his fingers along Seunghyun's thigh, making him shiver at the sensation even through his jeans. “Are you too cold?”
“Ah...yeah...kinda...” he was almost taken-aback, as though that wasn't the question he'd expected him to ask, though he couldn't say what was.
“Here...” Jiyong smiled, taking a corner of the blanket and wrapping it around himself as well, “I'll help warm you up~”
So damn helpful. Especially considering, contrary to Jiyong's statement earlier, his skin was actually pretty cold to the touch. The liquor was probably just making him feel warm-fuzzy. “Aish...” Seunghyun found himself wrapping an arm over his shoulder and rubbing at Jiyong's arm to warm him up instead.
“Mmm...Hyung...I have something to confess...” Jiyong began, honesty and guilt lacing his tone.
That's weird, is all that Seunghyun thought.
“Please, don't think bad of me when I tell you this...”
Seunghyun blinked. He couldn't be about to...
“...I ate your last donut. The other day. And blamed it on Seungri.”
“Aish, you little...” Seunghyun huffed, but it was more because he'd been flabberghasted by how close he'd thought that Jiyong had been to saying he liked him or something. “Figured you would.”
“Are you angry...?” Jiyong looked at him with such pleading, vulnerable eyes, how could he be? Damn it.
“Nah. Already took my anger out on Seungri,” he chuckled.
To that Jiyong smiled, his lopsided drunken smile. “Thanks.”
Seunghyun resumed trying to rub the warmth back into him, sighing.
“Mmm, hey...”
“...yeah?”
“Sing me a Christmas carol?”
Despite his usual image, Seunghyun had no qualms with singing, especially dorky songs, which Jiyong knew, and even in his drunken state, fully took advantage of.
Clearing his throat, Seunghyun didn't miss a beat and went into his soft-low rendition of 'Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer'.
Jiyong grinned like an idiot throughout most of it. Then, when he was barely finished the song, he was softly snoring against Seunghyun's shoulder.
With a drawn sigh, Seunghyun shifted more comfortably and gladly took sleep where he could get it, finally.
The cup of hot chocolate on the table in front of them was left cooled and forgotten.
The next morning revealed that the night had covered Seoul with snow.
Someone, presumably Youngbae (being probably the only sober one upon return), had put another blanket over their huddled up forms, who had ended up curled up together across the sofa, the previous blanket slipped and tucked under them. Also, it looked like he'd ridded the mug from the table.
“Aish...” Jiyong cracked a bleary eye open and dragged a hand over his face, no doubt having been gifted with a festive hangover, stirring Seunghyun from his hibernation.
“Ah...mornin'...” he said gruffly around a yawn, stretching and disentangling from his sleeping partner, who groaned in protest at movement in general. “Well, you look like shit.”
“Thanks a lot,” glaring, albeit unfocused, Jiyong moved to sit up sluggishly, his entire body seeming to be weighted down with ache.
“Merry Christmas~” Seunghyun smiled, messy hair askew and clothing completely wrinkled, saying it as though his description of his appearance was his present.
“Ugh...hyung...” Jiyong pouted, finding that grimacing hurt his head too much.
“Aigoo~” Seunghyun found it in his heart, despite his better judgement, to take pity on him, “Stay here, I'll get you some aspirin.”
If Jiyong could make a grateful expression without cringing, he would have.
“This isn't like you,” he noted, sitting down next to him again and handing him a glass of water and a wonderful, wonderful pill. “Seungri and Daesung, yeah. But you usually don't drink that much.”
“Yeah. Well. I did,” Jiyong dismissed it, swallowing the pill in a big gulp of water.
“You usually don't hump me and try to stick your tongue down my throat that much either.”
“You say it like you're disappointed.” Jiyong chugged the rest of the water, watching him through the glass.
Seunghyun stood back up with a bemused grunt, and went to grab some clothes and take a shower.
That afternoon, they were all scheduled to go in and work a bit on their new album. Time off for holidays, as with time off in general, was a fleeting rarity for them all. So what they'd had so far, they'd appreciated. Including the moments between getting out of the van, and on the way into the studio.
Taking advantage of the fresh snowfall, Jiyong prempted the whole thing, with a shit-eating grin present even through his ebbing headache, and gathered a firmly-packed snowball in his gloved hands, lopping it at Seungri and hitting him in the back of the coat. Mainly for bitching and moaning the entire drive about his own headache, which was damn annoying.
Seungri, (who hadn't been at all with it since he'd indeed drank even more than him or Dae,) took a moment to realize where it'd come from, and turn around. Only to cry out as he got another snowball to the side from Daesung, then Seunghyun and Youngbae respectively. The events that ensued resulted in each one of them covered in snow and pink-cheeked, laughing, and pelting eachother a few more times before the manager called them along.
The rest of the day, well a little into the evening was spent in the studio, working out composition and such. Unsurprisingly, certain members were not as productive as they would usually be, because of the party the night before. So, that left Seunghyun to pick up some of the slack, which he did willingly and without comment, seeing how hard it appeared for Jiyong to focus on the work before him.
“Bet you're not gonna drink for a while now, huh?” he nudged GD's arm later as they left and headed to get dinner.
“Ah, why not. Got you around, and you can always use the practice composing,” he snarked back at him.
“Eff you man!” Seunghyun laughed, no bite in his tone, and Jiyong slung his arm over his shoulder and they walked ahead, leaving the other three trailing behind, looking somewhat confused about what just occured.
It was a very typical Christmas.
