Self defense shootings in Detroit up 79% - 911 IS A JOKE
Most of the country is seeing a reduction in violent crime, but not the Detroit area. The Michigan State Police released the 2012 annual report listing the number of Concealed Pistol License applications by county a few days ago. It is interesting to note that many of the more rural counties had roughly the same number of CPL renewals as new approved licenses, but in the metro-Detroit area new approved licenses are sky rocketing. Out of a total of 300, 786 licenses, 187,919 were new and 112,867 were renewals. In Wayne county where Detroit resides, only 15,821 licenses were renewals and 42,708 were new. Apparently a *LOT* of people in Detroit got CCW's this past year...
