Bulls-Eye!

It seems quite odd to me that a game where the object is to throw sharp pointy things at small numbered slices could be, in fact, quite fun. I am surprised everyday by trying new things and the game of darts just happens to be a new little adventure in my life. Albeit, my first try at the game DID send me falling out a bar window, but I think that was more a combination of broken sandals and gravity's fault then the game of darts. Sore, yes, but defeated, no. I really have gotten myself into this frustrating game and, as such, the different ways you can play it!

My most favorite way to play is Cricket. In this game you are counting down from 500 with the other team. You can hit any point on the dart board itself with Bull being 50 and Double Bull being 100 (to my newly formed knowledge). You can double or triple any number by landing on the smaller strips in the slices and I find that it is just more of a relaxing and free-form game then 501.

501 is probably the bane of my every existence right now. Well, I could be exaggerating just a bit but only a little! In this game you and your team have to hit certain numbers three times each to close them out. (20, 18, 15, 17, 19, 16, & Bull). You can guess, that since I am new at this, that I have not perfected myself at hitting the right numbers...or anything at all for that matter. I love a good challenge though and this is a great one for me. So really as devastated as I get about it, I always go back for more!

Honestly the real fun comes in playing a ridiculous game with all your friends on a Sunday night where Lagers are 1.50, the bartenders are happy to give free rounds, and you get to play with great people who are out to do the same thing and who live in your area. Sundays have become some of the best nights for me this summer, to say the least thanks to darts.
