Akanishi Jin Yellow Gold Tour 3010 | San Francisco Warfield | Thurs, Nov. 11, 2010
THE WARFIELD IS RIGHT NEXT TO A STRIP CLUB, ROFL I WONDER IF JIN VISITED.
Hokay so.
korn_lotr_luver and I arrived around 5 and there was ALREADY a line starting, when doors open at 7! But we were still near the front and she knows people who were more up front. WHICH LED TO US BEING IN THE FRONT ROW. LIKE. 6 FEET AWAY FROM HIM. If only my arm was twice as long, I could reach him. When he was on the left side of the stage, we were literally right under him.
WE HIGH-FIVED DOMINIC during Oowah. This man, who freaking has probably touched, no, hugged Jin, SO INDIRECT CONTACT STFU I KNOW I'M INSANE. I mean, this guy wrote Bass Go Boom for him. Therefore, AWESOME. (btw,
korn_lotr_luver 's
entry is more coherent than mine OTZ.
Highlights:
- Tipsy Love -- When Jin was singing, "if I say do you need me, would you say ye-oh," one of the photographers (I swear it was the same guy from the LA cons who wore the mask then) said "ye-oh" from below the stage after all of us said it, and Jin was surprised and did a double take, like he was confused for a second and alskdhlkashd it was adorable and he stopped singing for a second.
- He laughed. SO MUCH. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. HIS SMILE. *__________________* He was smiling so much and at one point he just threw his head back and laughed. He just seemed so much more comfortable than during the LA cons.
- Hey Girl -- THIS SONG IS TOO MUCH FUN. So korn_lotr_luver and I were in the front left corner and are probably the ONLY non-Japanese people up front there, so I swear to god when they were pointing at random people in the audience and saying "you" they pointed directly at us and OMG I SWEAR EYE CONTACT ALSJAS
- Apparently, he messed up in A Page, but I can't remember it. korn_lotr_luver swears it, so believe her.
- He threw his fedora into the crowd. As well as a towel and that whole part of the crowd just caved. Dominic also grabbed another towel from Jin later on and threw it into the crowd.
- Towards the end of the con, someone threw a stuffed turtle onto the stage. One of the dancers picked it up and practically shoved it into Jin's face XD. All the dancers seemed pretty confused by it, but were all cute about it. One of the girl dancers and one of the guy dancers held it between them and they bowed with it at the very end. SO CUTE.
- At the end of Tipsy Love, they sang the he-ey heee-ey he-e-e-ey part to A-KA-NIII-SHI A-KA-NI-SHI. SO CUTE. Jin was embarrassed about it at first, trying to get them to stop, but they didn't and we all did it too so :P
- During Paparats, when the person pretending to be a paparazzi has his camera right in front of Jin, Jin says really quietly something like, "Fuck off" so only those of us close to the stage could hear it. Cue whole front row freaking out.
THREE NEW SONGS:
- Oowah (One) -- started with a texting intro on the screen, like Jin is backstage texting us. He makes us do a math problem that will take us back to the number "1". It was super cute, like one of the words was misspelled at first, we think it was "your", like it was typed out as "yout" and then it was backspaced and corrected as "your." During the math part, where he asks you to pick a number, I had to yell out 528491 (I can't HELP it. Inception references WHENEVER I CAN). But then I was like, "oh shit!" because I wasn't thinking and couldn't do the math. xD It's cool though that they do it twice. After the first time, he gives us the problem again, the text on the screen reading "you guys are slow."
- So after Oowah, he actually MC'd. YES, HE SPOKE TO THE AUDIENCE. He told us that he has 3 new songs, and then he went on to the next two songs. He asked us if we were having fun, etc. And then he looked up at the 2nd floor, because they weren't as loud, so he put his hand on hip, girly pose and all, asking, "Second floor?!"
- Body Talk -- A ballad. Oh, and hi there full body roll. Oh dear god those hips. *_____*
- Fifth Season -- So. FRIGGIN. BEAUTIFUL. It was amazing to hear no autotune and his natural voice. Especially when he sings the "it's overflowing" part, you can see just how into singing and his music he was.
Other random ish:
- Saw two of the Japanese teachers from Berkeley. Imagawa-sensei and Shibahara-sensei. Saw them on the way back home on the Bart. I said, "Sensei! Konbanwa" but I don't think they recognized me, I felt a little embarrassed.
- Before the con, Dominic and some of the dancers came outside, and were recording a video of the people in line, made us cheer, and actually took photos with people.
- There was the same dance segment in the later half of the con, but it was shorter. There wasn't the light dancing, and they didn't do the panels, or the magic trick stuff. But they did do this samurai dance with these 2 Japanese dancers that look like older JE guys or something.
- Boobie was MC again, but there was different guy with him, and sadly, I can't remember his name right now.
Set list was similar to the LA cons. Opened with the MCs trying to work up the crowd, then had Dominic open with 2 songs. The guitar/drum/keyboard set is pulled onstage, and Jin appears in the same white jacket. I couldn't help but gape at him. His hair is cut short, it's dark, and how is he so wonderful and beautiful. He does the robot dance, introduces the tour and sings Christmas Morning first. I.N.P, Paparats, My MP3, Hey Girl, Bass Go Boom of course were done too. He ended with Yellow Gold and Tipsy Love like before, which makes me so happy. Have not stopped singing that since we got back. ♥
