~ROTATION #15~

May 05, 2007 17:09

HELLO AGAIN to everyone who came around or found the way to our small mp3 rotation page~
It's time for (a late) rotation #15!!

Yes, we have a few days delay! ^^ I am very sorry about it. Kage and me were busy people... somehow... okay... Kage was busy and I was lazy/listless. >_>

I feel the urgent need to change a bit about the rotation design till next time... I already changed a bit, but no one notices anyway xD Also I want to have new band-banners for a few aritists (i.e. for the GazettE). Maybe I change that when I'm bored...

On a sidenote: I know the Hyde 'banner' is too huge, but I couldn't resist to put it up, since... X3~

I really don't have that much to say this time...
Nothing important happen and so... let's just get this rotation started ^-^
Please enjoy our music for these two weeks and leave a nice comment, if you should take something, like what you hear/read/see or just wanna tell us how goddamn awesome we are!! :DD *disappears to nowhere again*

Click, click for the RULES & REQUESTS :D

THEME~
And our next randomly-picked theme IS: BUGS AND INSECTS!!

ONE

Artist: Nightmare
Song: Black Sick Spider
4.85 MB // 3:32 min // 7/10
kagechii says: I’m not quite the biggest fan of Nightmare, but they have some good songs here and there, but this really isn’t one of them. Nothing really stands out to me in this song. It sounds like a lot of other songs I’ve heard, which is okay, that doesn’t make it a bad song at all, but it’s not anything that I would absolutely love first listen.

TWO

Artist: AYA
Song: Honey Bee
2,9MB // 3:15 min // 7/10
in_monochrome says: Not the best AYA song. Her voice gets disorted a bit too much for my taste ~_~
Download!

THREE

Artist: ART-SCHOOL
Song: TARANTULA
4.94 MB // 4:19 min // /10
kagechii says: I’m so just picking songs for the theme by title, I FAIL! XD *giant stamp descends from the sky to stamp massive ‘FAILURE’ on Kage’s forehead*
Download!

FOUR

Artist: Asian Kung-Fu Generation
Song: Butterfly
6,6MB // 4:44 min // 9/10
Comment:
in_monochrome says: I really have four songs on my computer that are titled 'Butterfly'. So... why did I pick this one? Cause I love it. And I'm a sucker for AKFGs ballads T_T They always remind me of driving around destionationless, like wandering lost though a deep starful night. And I wish I could read kanji so that I could know what stands in the booklett of my CD xD; Masafumis voice is - like I said some time before - something you can either love or hate. His singing is so different, but yet so familiar to me. It maybe sounds listless, but it's just the deep longing that yet is so in vain. Haha.

FIVE

Artist: hide
Song: Pink Spider
3.41 MB // 3:43 min // 10/10
kagechii says: Well I had hoped that this rotation would be up by May 2nd, but alas, I am a lazy ass finals always turn my brain into nonsensical mush for a while. Anyway, as I am picking songs by titles, Pink Spider is a must! XD I love this song so why not put it up when it matches the theme? Even if almost every J-rock fan has this song already, or at least heard (of) it, although I admit that I hadn’t realized that I actually didn’t have the file until I was actually looking for it to put up. @@; Stupid computer, thank you Anni-chan! X3

SIX

Artist: D[di:]
Song: Dragon fly
5,7MB // 4:10 min // 9/10
Comment:
in_monochrome says: This song starts and sets a strange image. With this like pressure coming down noise and deep guitar and drum sounds and it sounds like a depressing song, but after a while it turns a bit brighter while she sings it turns out to be a bit nicer than you think by hearing the first seconds. At least this is what I think. But still it stays calm and actually this is the only real ballad from D[di:]. Nothing really special happens and it's just floating~

[[in_monochrome's PICKS]]

Artist: Kagrra,
Song: Togenkyo
6,07MB // 4:25min // 10/10
Comment: First: WTF at Isshis "Shiroi yami" (White darkness)! XD Sorry, I needed to say that. One of my favorite Kagrra, songs. It's wonderful mellow and relaxed and I absolutely adore how they mix these traditional sounds with rock music. I can't help, but Togenkyo gives me the image of myself how I'm walking around, searching for something unknown, through an earlier Japan in a fullmoon night. While I'm walking on a path alone next to a river just small shining lanterns spend me light and little gloworms are dancing on the water and the reed moves lightly in the soft nightbreeze. This is how I feel when I listen to this... or maybe I just watched too much Samurai Champloo?! xD; What I'm trying to say is that you can lose yourself into this song, cause it brings you back to a long ago time. It's a bit like magic. The arrangement is very beautiful, everything sounds so well mixed: instruments, singing... I can just highly recommend this! <3

Artist: Charlotte
Song: Furaretariumu
6,81MB // 5:11min // 9/10
Comment: Dear God... this band!! XD This band is so disturbed! But they have something that is just... great. I chose one of their none disturbed songs though. I give you cookies when you can say the title of this 5 times very fast! I am so very brain dead today... what can I say about this? Seems like all my picks this time are very mellow songs, so this is. Floating, soft, but with a pretty fast pace - not too fast anyway. I'd almost say that this is typical VK song, but it's way too pretty to be one ~_~

Artist: 176BIZ
Song: Konayuki Re mind
12,2MB // 5:21min // 10/10
Comment: EDIT: This file is named wrong. When I got it I didn't know it it, but this song is Re mind and not Konayuki. Sorry for the mixing up, but it's really not my fault this time! x_xEDIT END
Really... almost all my picks are ballads or slow paced songs! XD Might be because of my mood. So, Re mind is such a PRETTY song!! *sighs* So utterly wonderful! Why do I just own 3 song from this band?! This is so beautiful, sad, but has this feeling of 'Don't give up' or like 'I'm waiting for you, even if it's in vain' (I get a familiar feeling when I listen to Dir en greys 'Akuro no oka'). But~ awww~ T_T So wonderful~ his voice is so beautiful and the music is too~ I wish I knew what he sings, I can just make out some words. Those who read my comments since a few rotations maybe already noticed that I tend to fall in love with the bass in songs. So I don't need to mention how much I adore the bass in here, especially at the end... Oh and the guitar solo is so pretty too!RECOMMENDED with all my heart T_T!

4]]

Artist: Acid Android
Song: Daze
4.74 MB // 4:07 min // 7/10
Comments: I wanted to put up something different (artist-wise, not necessarily music) so I picked this! XD; From what I understand, it’s Yukihiro of L’arc~en~ciel singing. He’s not that bad, although the digital effects added sort of get in the way of determining that. I heard that was done on purpose though, jokingly put by Yukihiro in an interview (which I can’t seem to remember where it is at the moment). The music’s okay, but it’s not that appealing to me right now, maybe some other time. :)

Artist: HYDE
Song: I CAN FEEL
4.72 MB // 5:09 min // 10/10
Comments: It’s HYDE! |D (And I just barely realized I picked songs from two of members of Laruku’s solo projects, heh. XD;) Has anyone ever noticed that as time goes on, singers’ voices get deeper and deeper? o.o; I mean, I know it’s probably natural and all, but I still find it a bit odd, especially when you compare older works with more recent releases. XDD Ah, never mind, not like it’s a bad thing so shutting up about that now. A lot of songs from HYDE’s FAITH album are relatively calm, but all of the lyrics are so beautiful. <3 And how do I know this without looking up translations? Most of the lyrics are already in English! :D HYDE’s English is pretty good, writing and singing (haven’t really heard him speak so dunno), unlike some other J-rockers who believe they know enough of the language to write lyrics to a song in all English, but the grammar’s off…*hides from angry people*

Artist: hide
Song: Blue Sky Complex
6.38 MB // 5:34 min // 8/10
Comments: Another hide song! I uploaded this before I had Pink Spider. My first impression of this song was something along the lines of ‘Qua? Oo;’ since there’s the usual guitar being played as the intro and then…trumpets. XD; Not quite something I generally associate with hide, but it somehow works.

REQUESTS!

7]]

Artist: PIERROT
Song: CREATURE
4,70MB // 3:25min // 9/10
Requested by: akira_hana
Comment:
kagechii says: I find this song to be odd, mainly because of the funny intro before the song starts, although there seems to be two versions of this song. There’s one on the Private Enemy album and one from DICTATOR’S CIRCUS - A VARIANT BUD, one of Pierrot’s ‘best of’-like albums. Oo; It’s also a single, but I’m not sure which one’s considered the single version since I just barely realized the differences. --; I need to start paying attention more. The one I’m commenting about is the version found on Private Enemy. Again, Kirito’s voice seems to be digitally…filtered? That’s the first word that pops into my head when listening to it. XD; A lot of digital effects in the version I’m listening to, but it helps the song fit into the album.
in_monochrome says: I own this song, but... I don't like it >>

Artist: DEPAPEPE
Song: SUMMER PARADE
4.67 MB // 3:23 min // 10/10
Requested by: to_you_in_grey
Comment:
kagechii says: Wah, I really like DEPAPEPE’s music, it’s a refreshing change from the general rock music of electric instruments and digitized vocals; in fact, there’s pretty much no singing involved in DEPAPEPE’s works! There’s just two acoustic guitars, with a few accompanying instruments to help enhance the music and sounds, like in this song. There’s like this faded chorus ‘la la la la la la’s in the background near the end, but I don’t really count that as vocals. The main focus of the music though is the guitars, which are lovely to listen to. Recommended download! :D
in_monochrome says: Ohh~ acoustic guitars!! X3 Me likes. And such a lovable summer-feeling! Me likes even more! I totally agree with Kage: Recommended! x3

Artist: the GazettE
Song: Sugar Pain
10,1MB // 4:25min // 10/10
Requested by: akira_hana
Comment:
in_monochrome says: This song is chasing, it's hunting you. Like in a horror movie you're runnig through a forrest at night, scared, alone and you fear to fall, cause when you'll fall you won't be able to escape anymore. I think that's the best to describe this song. Rukis gasping at the end is... nice. xD
kagechii says: Ooh, I really like this song! 8D It’s sort of calm in the beginning, you just hear one of the guitars (I can’t tell which right now since I’m listening on my computer and I have four speakers XD;), but everything just starts up after about 26 seconds. And Ruki’s chanty-chanty vocals, whee! 8D And screaming and semi-rappish with his normal singing. There’s also some funny breathing sounds at the end. I think I’ll just leave my comments here, my brain’s still a scramble. XD;

Artist: the GazettE
Song: The $ocial Riot Machine$ [live @ NLSG]
10MB // 3:47min // 9/10
Requested by: akira_hana
Comment:
in_monochrome says: Really not that great as the studio version, but I guess it's hard for Ruki to perform this life, cause this song is so fast. But I have to say that all the instruments - especially the guitars - sound brilliant. I'd like to see this song live. And this deserves some extra love for the guys growling in their micros ;P
kagechii says: Eyah, I fucking love this song live! 8D Gazette’s lives are always awesome, but this song is just amazing. And I’m not just saying that because of the hip-trusts that Ruki throws in with the chorus. I like how it’s less…screamy? live than the recorded version (I have nothing against screaming) and Ruki just sounds great live, especially the little rappy-like bits he adds in. X) And I like the way he rolls his ‘r’s. :D Fun song!

Artist: Bonnie Pink
Song: Last kiss
10,0MB // 4:325min // 10/10
Requested by: to_you_in_grey
Comment:
in_monochrome says: The song that introduced me to this singer. It's the ending from Gantz and such a sad song (in my opinion) T_T It always makes me so nostalgic. Starting with a calm intro some instruments join in and then slowly a whole orchestra starts playing along in the background what gives the whole arrangement a very nice atmosphere. Bonnies voice sounds so beautiful here. *sighs* Not good for my mood at all XD; The only thing I don't like about this song is her singing: "It's bitter like beer for kids" oO' Ooookaaay... But the "wasurenai yo" ("Don't forget" I think) at the end... Gaaaah~ T___T
