i suppose you just have to weigh the options in terms of what's more important to you at the time....supporting an event, regardless of how some strangers might id you, just to be a part of it OR taking care of yourself and acknowledging the validity of your own discomfort
i don't see either as the "right answer"..it's just up to you

I don't think you are off base at all.

In fact, I think it was really strong of you to be able to define your boundries about the march, and recognize that it wasn't something you would feel comfortable doing. Also, while they might not understand what it is like for you to be in a female body and not identify that way, it seems as though you are clear about what that means to you. If being identified by others as a butch dyke isn't comfortable for you, I think doing what you need to do in order to feel comfortable is a good thing. I don't think it means you are being ridiculous.

You have gumption, Sheybutt. I think it's awesome that you're comfy enough not only with who you are and how you are, but your boundaries and limits. It takes a lot of self awareness. Kudos.
