[Sporking] Never Say Never - Chapter 4

May 28, 2015 15:41

*long, deep breath* Guys. This chapter is hard. This chapter is honestly very disturbing and disgusting, and could possibly be very triggering to a lot of people. I confess that the prose is still very stilted and bland, as it has been in the previous chapters, but that doesn’t change the fact that the content is very serious. And it is not handled ( Read more... )

I don't get the entirety of that AN where the Suethor interacts with the characters. It just feels like Kisshu did do something. And other than the creepy factor, I don't get why the author is shipping them if Ichigo never trusts Kisshu.

"I'm sorry, koneko-chan. Would a kiss make it feel better?" Kisshu smirked.

No, but maybe a smack in the kisser would! *smacks*

Goddammit Suethor, how the hell can you write anyone being that insensitive and still believe that means they care for that person?!

And honestly, I'm not gonna blame Ichigo for her response to him. Sure, it's not actually his fault the Suethor morphed Masaya into a cheating slime ball, but he actually hasn't been saying anything to help the situation either. He's so far just been smug and flippant over something that's clearly distressed her.

Why does she hate me so much? It's not like I had anything to do with that tree-hugger cheating on her.

No, but you could have done something other than smirk and try to kiss her, which was unintentionally mocking her feelings about the situation. You could have realised she was genuinely upset and tried to stop thinking of yourself for once, and instead, attempt to do something that could have cheered her up or comfort her.

(A.N. honestly Ichigo, I love you, but you're a heartless bitch to Kisshu…if you were real I would kill you for hurting him so much.)

I'd say definitely RSPCC. Cause it's showing Suethor's completely missed the point of their characters.

I probably wouldn't think it's a Romantic Creeper, just because this isn't something I would instantly think the Suethor was intending to show why "Kisshu is the smexy" or whatever. It's just her stating her fangirly opinion as wrong as it is and unintentionally victim blaming Ichigo for not wanting the guy that stalked her.

Though, if this isn't the only instance of victim blaming in the fic, maybe you should consider a separate count for it?

That is an odd euphemism to say “make-out”

I think it's an American thing. I know I've heard it on TV or read it in books a few times. Never actually heard anyone in Australia say it so I thought it was just some yankee slang.

He started slapping and punching her until she went out cold. Then he raped her.

WHAT. THE. FUCK.

Why the fuck would you even think Masaya was even capable of doing shit like this? And why would you write it like this?! Fuck this Suethor. Someone needs to slap her until she realises how stupid and insensitive this was.

Also, how does Ichigo later on know that she was raped? Sure, she was naked, but that was all she saw. Why would she jump to that conclusion? Masaya has never done something like this to her in the fic, so this shouldn't be her first thought. Also, nudity =/= sex. It may be confusing and she'd be completely at a loss as to why she's suddenly naked, but she wouldn't so easily just jump to the thought "oh, I was raped".

"You're late." Ryou said as Ichigo walked in.

Considering that's the only description we get, I now imagine that Ryou was genuinely not looking when Ichigo walked in. He was probably busy looking at something else, then she walked in and hurried off, and as he looked up when she didn't respond, he got all confused because she was already out back.

[Zakuro] left, with Pudding and Lettuce not to far behind after

Wait? So no one is going to bother go check on Ichigo? I mean, these three are meant to be her friends and haven't been demonised by the Suethor. So why are they just getting angry at Mint but not giving a crap to check on Ichigo to make sure she's alright?

They’ve got some sort of weird fucking telekinetic connection now?

Well, the Suethor could show us why Kisshu and Ichigo love each other, and have the two characters develop genuine feelings for one another. OR she can just say "they share a mind, so it's true love" so that she doesn't need to show us anything.

"If I tell you, you have to promise not to get angry, okay?"

What? This just came out of nowhere, even for this Suethor. What exactly is Ichigo fearing as a reaction here? Is she worried that Kisshu may want to kill Masaya for this? Because then should say "promise you won't try to kill Masaya again". Is she just that emotional that she couldn't take his anger as a response because she expects he (like most people) would be disgusted on hearing about what happened? Then there should be some mention in the narrative at least giving indication that this is what Ichigo was thinking.

Or is she seriously that afraid of him, that she's only telling him this because she's afraid she'll get beat or worse for not telling? Yet she also knows she's about to be beat for being "used" by someone else? Because that's what it sounds like, and if that's the case, congratulations, Suethor. You have made Kisshu ten times more creepier than he was in the anime.
