I had the most shitty day... but most of it, I brought upon myself and learned from it, so I won't gripe. But to come home and discover that I'm covered in bug bites was the last straw!!! *grumbles* Now I have sore feet and ichy legs and arms... wonderful!

But beyond all that... the concert was swell :) It, um, wasn't what I expected *ahem* I was so excited about the pieces that they were playing, that I didn't note the name of the Orchestra, in German... Koreanische Querflote Orchester... It was a flute ensemble *sigh* I enjoyed it, as did Sunim, and I would have done it all over again just to hear the Piazzolla! 84 flutes, electric guitar and accordian playing Oblivion was eerie as hell and friggin amazing! They also played Carmen Fantasy by Borne, which was amazing and the soloist was gorgeous! Then they did a medley for an encore (they LOVE encores in Korea, though no one ever stands up at the end of a concert unless it's to leave) that was pretty much a quick history in classical/romantic music. I was cracking up all through that. Imagine a flute orchestra playing 1812 Overture... need I say more? lol And for their second encore (see what I mean?), they played Surfin' USA... which caused for more laughter, and lots of clapping along (which is another thing that Koreans LOVE to do). The only bit that I was really dissapointed with was Concerto de Aranjuez. There's just no way the mellow flute (however numorous they may be) will ever have the power to do that climax justice! Plus, it was really, truly written for guitar... it would have been neat if they had a guitar soloist with the flute orchestra in the back.
