So I wasn’t sure that I was even going to do these this year. They took up so much time last year and that was time that I had to spare. They were a great distraction from my course work but I'm not sure they'll be from actual work. But I did get a lot of pleasure from writing them.
When I was considering whether I was going to revue/analyse the

These contestants just seem like they don't have any heart or spirit - that they really are 100% trying to do what will make them a "star" and not what comes naturally to them.
It's kind of this exactly isn't it. Some of them seem to have studied what to do but don't understand what they've read. Theoretically they know what has worked for others but can't see that maybe it's not what'll work for them.
It makes him doubly annoying to me.
I completely agree with this, I find the same problem with Lee I have to admit.

I hear you about not being invested though. I stopped watching after Hollywood week, though it was partly due to the Olympics being on and after they ended, I just didn't go back to Idol. There just isn't anyone that I'm excited about enough to actually... watch. Yeah.
Still, I liked reading it! Even if I can't really comment about the people. :)

Wow, that's so lovely to read. Thank you so so much.
I thought about writing earlier but there were just too many people so I held back a bit :). Plus, I may still be finding Season 8 alums more intersting to follow!!!
Oh I got very very hooked on the Olympics as well. I'm an Ice Skating fan through and through (which is probably the least surprising fact in the world :D)
And hey, it's great o know you still liked reading it without knowing who it was about :D

Oh I really think the producers are going to this. They're going to try and pimp Siobhan and Crystal and an Adam/Kris type situation all over again only without being able to inject a possible red state/blue state possibility. That last note was definitely a little off but not sure people are going to care. It was more a howl than singing by that point and Paint It Black is probably one of the only times you could really even attempt that.
It's kind of amusing, because at work, everything came to me for Idol news last year and this year, it's like... yeah, I know this, but only because I read it at MJ's.
I work somewhere where it is tantamount to treason so admit to watching Idol; it's far too music snobby for that. I did and I refuse to take it back! :D. But the guy oposite me didn't even know who Kelly Clarkson was!!
I saw the team speed skiing and my god was it exciting!!

I admit that my _main_ reason for watching is for the S8 guest performances :-). I am so looking forward to seeing what Adam brings to that stage when he guest-performs. Not to mention the judge's reactions to it :-).
