so, i'm in new york. i'm staying in brooklyn w/laura, in a cool neighborhood called Park Slope. i got here wednesday morning, and i've already had a couple sensory-overloads..heh.

yesterday laura took me to the brooklyn superhero supply co., which i thought was the coolest thing ever. its not a costume store, it actually sells super-hero stuff (well...not REAL superhero stuff, but great toys and gadgets and costumes for both adults and kids...it would have been my second home when i was a kid, if i lived here) and it looks like a superhero lair or big science lab. i had to say a superhero oath before i could buy stuff...it was so damn cool. but, whats really cool is that behind a shelf they have a "secret lair" where they hold non-profit, after-school writing programs for kids and teens, 826 NY. the superhero store is run by volunteers and the money they do make goes towards that program, evidently.

so cool!

anyway, today we went to the metropolitan art museum. we spent the whole day there, i have NEVER been in an art museum so big. holy crap, i nearly pissed my pants there was so much cool art. so much art, that we didnt even see the entire museum. i had a couple artsee/spiritual experiences, ate some expensive museum food, and had a really good time. i may go visit the MoMA while i'm here too.

well, it is hotter than satans asshole right now, so i'm going to lay in front of laura's fan like a beached whale. more to report later...
