Finished my first full week of work in months, and now I'm as tired as I usually am after a full week of doing nothing. This particular job seems to have a slight curse on it, including missing buses, broken-down cars, congealing resin, broken equipment, train strikes and minor injuries, all conspiring to screw things up. As for me, I was so fascinated by the exciting colours on my bruised knee, which looks spectacular but doesn't hurt at all, that I only noticed the pain in my chest much later. It turns out that I cracked a rib when I fell; a horizontal scaffolding bar caught me in the chest just below the collarbone. A couple of inches up or down could have been much worse of course, but it is annoying. I saw the doctor this morning and (when he'd finished boggling at my presence on a building site) he told me what it was and then said there was not much to be done about it, apart from taking pain-killers.
