Low Expectations

The job search continues. Today turned up an unusually high number of possibles. Two at Bristol, offering surprisingly good money for museums - up to £26,000 for assistant antiquities conservator and up to £20,000 for documentation assistant. With this sort of princely remuneration (only a prince with a private income could afford to do this work), I could rent a bedsit in Bristol and commute back to London for weekends, without renting out my flat here. Or eating. The other two possibles were both in London - £15,000 for documentation assistant at the National Maritime Museum, and £19,000 for documentation assistant at the Natural History Museum. But that's not all. The NHM job also lists, among "other benefits" loan of a bicycle.

I really do begin to wonder whether I shouldn't have done a business degree.
