Brandon wants you to know that he would give his life for you so that you would never have to cry again. He has been really depressed lately thinking about you and how he feels that if he is a writer he should be able to come up with the words that cause you to see yourself like he does. He just wants you to be happy, whomever you end up with.
What would be his motivation to continue to lie to you? After seven years, you must know that he is not lying about how he thinks or feels about you. He just wants you to be happy and when you look in the mirror that you see what he sees.
