I've decided that I'm going to go private. This is because I am tired of dealing with the terrible PCT, and by the time I actually get a GIC appointment I'll probably be able to afford to go private anyway. I want the choice of what Doctor I see, who I speak to, what time frame I have, etc. It'll be worth the money, though at the moment I am struggling a lot to get a job - so all of this will take a while anyway. It balances out nicely.
However, I've been considering saving up for a mastectomy before a prescription for T.
So I was wondering, what does one have to do in the UK to get a mastectomy? Is it a question of letter from GP and psychiatrist? (Of which I can obtain both) Or do they prefer you to be on T? Do you have to go to a GIC first? Or is it just a case of speaking to a Doctor/place that does mastectomies?
This is because it is becoming my main priority. Breasts drag me down, they are so large that even binding doesn't do much for me. I can live with my voice and feminine appearance, if I can just get rid of these tumour-like lumps on my chest. It would boost my confidence insanely.
Any advice/guidance would absolutely amazing.
