Lifting and chest surgery

I know they say to lose weight if you're overweight before top surgery.  But I'm not real overweight and more interested in the rarer post-op pics of guys who have developed pecs.  I lift quite a bit and I'm wondering if anyone else did before surgery and if it helped the surgeon to contour you along already-developed muscles.  Or was the the ( Read more... )

I had essentially no pec development pre-op (still don't, one year post-op), and asked Dr Brownstein outright if it made a difference in contouring and if I should make an effort to develop my pecs prior to surgery. He said that for him, it makes no difference at all. Lack of pec development doesn't hurt anything if he's your surgeon. As for others, I have no idea. I doubt having developed pecs would hurt.

I cant answer that question because I dont have top surgery until Nov 2005 but I do know if you want pecs Brownstein does pectoral implants along with a mastectomy.

He won't do them at the same time. He recommends that you wait at least 6 months to a year. The only other issue with pec implants is think about yourself at 60 or 70...do you really want these fantastically hard pecs when the rest of your body is sagging? Personlly I think it might look a little weird. Kind of like all those women getting huge breast implants are gonna look when they're older. But, that's just my $0.02

Hahaha....I want to keep it natural, thanks! Not that the implants don't look good, but they're more trouble than they're worth, in my opinion. What if muscle gain there made them look wierd or something?

There was one picture on Transster of a guy with ripped pecs (#191). He's since changed his picture, but you can tell he's got great muscle development.

I'm seven months out of surgery, six months on T. I work out regularly, but I still don't have a lot of development. I still have some swelling from surgery (heard it can take up to a year to settle), and I'm going back in a couple of months for nip revision.

Probably an equation of Time on T + Time Post-Surgery + Time in Gym = Abercrombie Pecs & Abs.

i had pecs from T + lifting in the couple years before surgery. they didn't help the surgeon contour, but it was nice to have muscles visible after surgery.

I was shockingly( to me anyway) flaat after surgery, despite lifting etc. but I am kind of skinny so it fits. I was only about a year on T when I had surgery though, so I am still developing.
