I'm a super clean person. Since August, I've experienced a constant roach problem, a sewage leak in my ( Read more... )

I've known two people who have had really good luck with FSU student legal services against shitty landlords, that would be my first stop.

Good luck.

I really wish I had time to do something like that -- I have my MA comp exam this semester and I barely have time to breathe. I just need to get out of this lease.

you could always try getting pest control to come and then have them send him the bill. hopefully he doesn't change his address as much as his phone number. it might be fun to try, but know that your actions probably won't have legal standing since you are technically required to have the landlord approve maintenance done on the property.

this guy sounds like a real piece of work and gives landlords a bad name. ugh. i definitely suggest you seek some legal advice. send him something in writing threatening legal action or going to the local press. that might clean up his act a little.

Yeah - my roommates and I can sympathize with your sewage coming up out of the bathtub and toilets. Unfortunately for my roommate, it came out into her bedroom and soaked into the carpet. One of the people for our management company suggested that we stay at "a boyfriend's house for the weekend". I love how we pay rent to live in our house but have to go to a friend's house to pee, poo, or shower. We have been without plumbing for a total of 6 days this year, air for 3 days, heat for a week, and hot water for a week. What's hilarious, you ask? We signed for another year! HAHAHAHAHA. We must be crazy ( ... )
