Don't rent from K&L Properties (landlord John Klein)

In case any of you were pondering moving into 610 West Call Street or any other properties owned by K&L (John Klein is the landlord), (on Call Street, across from the College of Music and next to the Fine Arts Annex), I highly suggest you don't. I'm a super clean person. Since August, I've experienced a constant roach problem, a sewage leak in my apartment, apartment flooding during a winter storm, and in the last three or four days an influx of roaches. I can't reach the landlord because he constantly changes his phone number. During a sewage problem last month, I repeatedly called him and when he finally answered (his cell) phone, he said "Hello, the is Steve." Mind you, this man has a voice as distinct as Kermit the Frog's. WHO DOES THAT? It's not like I was hassling him about random crap -- there was OLD AND GROSS SHIT making its way out of my shower drain.

Then, this morning, I woke up and there were TWO ROACHES IN MY BED. I *JUST* washed my sheets last night, vaccuumed, took out the trash, cleaned the litter box, and cleaned the bathroom last night. I have never been more grossed out in my life. I mean, I've lived in Florida for my whole life, and I know roaches are just a part of life in Florida -- but in my BED? I think I'm more disgusted with this than sewage. I go to call the man to tell him he's required to have pest control monthly on apartment buildings, but HE CHANGED HIS FUCKING PHONE NUMBER.

I'm getting out of this lease so fast. I'm going to try and get an attorney to help me. Know any good ones?

PS -- I'm sorry, apparently I was misinformed. "House of Kaos" apparently refers only to the FRONT building on this property, 606 West Call, and my building is NOT the House of Kaos. That being said, I've never spent much time in the purported HOK and am not qualified to make statements about it. Regardless, John Klein is a shitty landlord and K&L Properties can suck it.
