The people in my building kick ass for the most part. There are a lot of guys that like to cook. So I have amazing Asian food on a fairly regular basis from people that go to the store, buy meat and vegetables, and through some alchemic process that I am totally in awe of, produce dishes of such succulence (and sometimes exoticism) that make me remember what real food is.
An typical G bulding feast: Crab legs with spicy honey sauce. With this went yellow curry chicken (courtesy of our indian RA) on the most fluffy rice ever, shrimp chow mein and fried rice, and for dessert there were (jello) cheesecake cupcakes with syrupy stawberry sauce. I was speechless. They work miracles in there, the tiny kitchn that is LITERALLY 4x5 feet. Like, the area of half a twin bed.
In uh school news, took finals, Music theory went alright in that I finished with plenty of time (something I was worried about) but that's no indication of how I did. Keyboard juries coming up this week, and piano auditions!
Oh! All the holiday choir concerts happened. The 100+ person university chourus one was in the Mondavi Center (3rd best concert hall in the US I hear...) and the orcestra was great, the choir was great and holiday cheer was made. The second one for chamber singers went REALLY well. Not like "we screwed up but no one knew" but actually well. It's nice when you like your conductors (as opposed to...) and then you get to make them proud. I might get to sing for a paying gig thisweekend, $90 for 3 hours work (plus rehearsal time...) but it's a gig! It means coming home late though... which makes me sad.
