Today Dad put the window air conditioner unit in at the living room of Rather Manor. It's strange how just a while ago we had horrible cold weather, and suddenly the switch turned to summer without any preambles. Just chaotic, it's been.

Today has been a day for the birds of prey. The Sheriff's Deputies are gathered at the High School...perhaps to set up a rolling roadblock or two later. The buzzards and hawks scull on the high breezes above our heads. It is sunny, but the wind chill makes it unpleasant to stay outside for very long.

Extremely heavy rain today. Worst in years, IMO. The street in front of Rather Manor had flooded for a while before the water could flow to Dumplin Creek. This place needs a better drainage system ( Read more... )

Today I put the electric blanket in the closet and took one of the visqueen plastic panel frames off from the windows in my bedroom. I'm keeping the space heater in the office a couple more nights to be on the safe side, tho'.
