(no subject)
So I must say that this has definitly been one of my better birthdays. Last night there were a whole bunch of people hanging out in my apartment who all sang "Happy Birthday" to me. It was really nice and a little odd not being sung to in German. I don't think I've ever had so many people wish me a happy birthday before. I think I had more people who I hardly know wish me a happy birthday than established friends. One of my friends took me out to lunch and bought me ice cream afterward. I should probably mention that it was in the 40s today. At first I was pretty bummed about having light pool tonight, but I came away really happy and feeling mentally good. It felt to nice to be working again. To be on a ladder hanging lights and circuiting, and tying pounds of cable to pipes. To have a wrench in my pocket and to get my hands dirty. I got yo bond with my fellow designers and techs and a staff member (for someone he has deemed me friendly and a person to talk to, not that I mind). A few weird things about today though. 1) It doesn't really feel like my birthday. 2) I haven't had any birthday cake, which kind of makes me sad. 3) My Dad called me today around 11:15 am, unprompted by my Mom and before I heard anything from her. Oh, well over all a very nice day and I'm so excited to check my mail.
