Helper child helping
Das Kid has been helping me get the downstairs room ready for my mother-in-law visiting. Of course, his help consists mainly of grabbing random items (of which there are plenty in that room atm) and inspecting them. Then he discovered a firetruck I got for him last year but never gave as a present. He took it upstairs and then he drove it around a little. He introduced it to a dump truck ( Placing them nose to nose: "Hi yellow truck.")and tested out the various fire truck components. That kept him occupied for a while before he came back and helped put the futon frame together. After those 8 bolts, his help was mainly falling on the bed, bouncing off the walls to fall on the bed, and climbing a nearby small bookshelf to jump onto the bed. Yes, there is a theme there.
Eventually I got him back upstairs and he is again playing with the firetruck. I'm ok with the addition, as we took a broken, formerly noisy PT Cruiser toy down to the garbage and said bye-bye and thank-you to it.
