Beers

One of the things I'm doing while on vacation is trying as many west coast brews/microbrews as possible. Trader Joe's has some beer (made by JosephsBrau Brewing in San Jose, whoever that is) and I tried the dunkelweizen and the golden bock. The dunkelweis is pretty good, though they went a bit heavier on the spice when packaging it than I prefer. It isn't exploding bottle carbonated, but its definitely higher than I usually drink. I didn't realize (duh for not reading) that the bock was an amber bock and not a darker holiday one, so its not really my style. Its good for what it is, though.
Sat and Sun I will be dropping in places in Berkeley and Santa Cruz to try a number of microbrews.

Sat, Berkeley:
Pyramid Brewery aka Berkeley Alehouse and Brewery (901 Gilman St)
Triple Rock Brewery (1920 Shattuck Ave)
Jupiter (2181 Shattuck Ave.)
There are some places in Oakland, too, but I don't think I'll have time to make it over there.

Sunday, Santa Cruz:
Seabright Brewery (519 Seabright Ave.)
Someone suggested trying a local winery (Boony Doon Vineyard, 328 Ingalls St) there, which we might do. I don't like wine for the most part, but am willing to give stuff a taste anyhow.
