Title: My Not-So-Lucky Love Charm
Pairing: Yamada/OC
Type: Chaptered
Rating: PG-13 (just being super safe), maybe PG-15 for this chap though... XD
Genre: Romance, Comedy
Summary: Ayamono Kari gets rejected by her crush and to make matters worse Yamada Ryosuke publicly humiliates her about her rejection. She takes a short trip to Okinawa to get away from it all. She ends up stumbling across a shrine dedicated to love. At that shrine there is a sacred tree where it is said that if you hang a piece of paper on the tree with your name on it you will definitely meet your true love but if a girl tears down a girls paper than the girl on the paper will never meet her true love. Being so sick of love Kari tears a piece of paper down to make herself feel better thinking that it’s a girl’s so she doesn’t have to be the only one who suffers. But it turns out that if you tear a guy’s name down than that guy will definitely fall in love with you. She goes back home feeling refreshed but Yamada Ryosuke is starting to act a bit strange around her…

The doorbell rang and I ran to go answer the door. I opened the door and found a delivery man standing there.

“Package for Ayamono Kari!” he said.

“That’s me,” I replied. As I signed for the package I looked at the information. The package came from Africa. Mom and Dad!

I was excited until I saw the box. It had air holes. The delivery man set the box down on the floor. I cautiously approached the box and peeked inside one of the air holes. I couldn’t see much because it was too dark but I did see a little puff ball rolled up in the corner.

I carefully opened the box and as soon as I did the puffball sprang to life and began running around the living room. It was so fast that all I could see was a blurry brown blob.

After a few runs around the living room it suddenly changed direction and ran straight towards me. It jumped up so high that it reached my chest. I was so surprised I fell backwards onto the floor.

The little puffball, whom was still on my chest, was now licking my face. The little puffball was a little dog.

“Mom! A dog? Really?” I said angrily into the phone.

“We thought you might be lonely so we sent you a dog,” said my mom on the other line.

“I’m not lonely! Well I guess I have no choice but to keep him anyway. By the way, what breed is he? I’ve never seen this type of dog before,” I said as I studied the tiny dog that was sleeping on my bed. He was as small as a Chihuahua, had pointy ears, had black fur with brown spots and his face resembled that of a hyena’s.

“He’s a miniature African wild dog,” My mother said enthusiastically.

“African Wild dog!?” I began panicking.

“MINIATURE African wild dog. It’s perfectly safe. The miniature African wild dog is a dog that a couple of scientists and I have bred. We hope to get it on the market soon. The one you have came from the first and only litter we have bred. The one you have is also the runt of the litter. He almost died. He’s quite the lucky one.”

“Lucky…”  I said as I stared at the dog.

I walked to school in a sleepy daze. Lucky was quite the handful and I didn’t get much sleep last night.

As I reached the school gates I saw Yamada standing there. When he saw me he walked up to me. “Hey Kari! Wow… you don’t look so good. Did you not get enough sleep?” he asked.

Great. If Yamada says I look bad then I must really look terrible. “Yea… Someone refused to get out of my bed so we ended up sleeping together and then he kept me up all night with his kisses. At one point he even slept on top of me.” I was so sleepy I hadn’t even realized how wrong that sounded.

“Y-you’re sleeping with him?” said Yamada. “Who is he and how long have you known him?” Yamada demanded.

“He’s Lucky. I met him yesterday.” I said in my sleepy drunkenness.

“You met him only yesterday and you’re sleeping with him!?” Yamada exclaimed. “What does he look like!?”

My brain was still not functioning right so I was wondering why Yamada was getting all worked up. “He’s really cute but don’t let that fool you. He’s a real troublemaker.”

“Why would you sleep with someone like that!?”

“Well I really couldn’t get him out of my bed no matter how hard I tried but maybe my parents are right… maybe I am lonely…” I said.

“If… If you’re lonely don’t just sleep with some random guy! I-if you ever get lonely… Y-you can… SLEEP WITH ME!” he yelled.

That slapped me wide awake. “What are you talking about? Wait! I think you misundersto-”

He grabbed me by the shoulders and looked me in the eyes. “I don’t know who this Lucky guy is but I have full confidence in my body,” he said seriously.

“YAMADA!!! LUCKY IS A DOG!”

“Hi Lucky!” said Yamada as he squatted down to the floor to greet Lucky. Lucky was running in circles around Yamada. I left the two of them in the living room while I went to go get Yamada a drink.

Yamada had insisted on coming over to meet Lucky and teach me how to take care of him since I had no experience with dogs.  I walked into the living room with Yamada’s drink. Yamada was sitting on the floor holding Lucky and Lucky was giving him a bunch of doggy kisses.

“Aww… you really like Papa don’t you!” said Yamada.

“Papa?” I said as I gave him a suspicious look.

“I-I d-didn’t say P-Papa! I said… Yamada! You- You misheard me!” he said.

I rolled my eyes, he had clearly said Papa.

“Anyways we should probably buy some supplies first,” he said.

“Good idea. Yesterday I tried shopping for dog supplies but I was too overwhelmed with all the stuff and all the choices that I ended up buying only a single can of dog food,” I said.

“Okay, let’s go!”

We walked to a couple convenient stores and bought most of the supplies. Yamada was quite helpful, he told me what brands were good, what items were cheaper at other stores and what items dogs liked best. After going to many stores we only had one item left on our list, dog shampoo. Each store we had went too happened to be all out of dog shampoo.

“Okay. Last store.” I said as we walked toward the entrance of the store. We went in and eventually found out that this store was also out of dog shampoo.

“Wow… maybe they’re having some dog grooming competition around here or something,” he said as we both stared at the empty shelf where the dog shampoo should’ve been. “Wait… I think I have a solution.” He said.

Yamada led me to the baby section of the store and walked up to the baby shampoos. “Baby shampoo?” I asked.

“Yea! It should be fine. Baby shampoo doesn’t have any bad chemicals, doesn’t hurt the eyes and is good for sensitive skin.” He said.

I shrugged and grabbed a bottle. We walked up to the checkout counter and gave the bottle to the cashier. When I handed her the bottle her eyes widened.

“Oh my… young parents?” she asked.

Yamada and I just stood there in silence. I think both of our hearts jumped so high that they hit our brains. “Uh… we’re n-“ I began to deny her claim but she interrupted.

“You’re a cute couple! I bet your baby is adorable!” she said as she giggled. “Just be careful next time though. Your baby might not want siblings yet. Would you like a box of-“

“No thank you!” I said quickly.

“Wait. I might want some.” said Yamada. By the look on his face I could tell he was messing with me.

I grabbed his arm and squeezed hard. “Haha dear! You’re so funny! But we don’t need those! Its not like we’ll ever do that again. I mean, it was just so weird how you made me dress up like Hey! Say! JUMP’s Chinen Yu-“ before I could finish Yamada covered my mouth with his hand and dragged me out of the store.

When we got outside the store I was laughing so hard I couldn’t breathe. Yamada was just standing there shaking his head at me.

“Hey! Why are you so mad!? You were the one who was about to buy a box of you-know-whats!” I said.

“And you were the one who said I had a Chinen fetish. I think I clearly have the right to be upset here,” he said jokingly.

I smiled, started walking and said, “Come on, our ‘baby’ is waiting.”

When we got home we set up all the dog supplies and spent a little time playing with Lucky. After that Yamada and I plopped down on the couch and began watching TV.

I probably should’ve been annoyed that Yamada still hadn’t left after I no longer needed his help but strangely I wasn’t annoyed… I actually didn’t mind him being there…

As we were watching TV I began to nod off. Last night’s lack of sleep was finally catching up to me. Eventually I drifted off into sleep…

I woke up but I didn’t open my eyes yet. I was leaning on something and I was hugging something… I opened my eyes and found myself resting my head on Yamada’s shoulder and was hugging his arm.

“Whoa!” I yelled as I quickly let go and leaned away from Yamada. He looked surprised by the sudden movement. I looked at the TV and noticed that the show we were watching was no  longer on, it was the same channel but a different show. I looked at Yamada and said, “Uh… sorry… how long was I… like that?”

I could see his face redden, “About an hour…” he said.

“Oh, I’m so sorry!”

“It’s ok! I really didn’t mind…” he said, his face was still red. “Well anyways I should get going.” He said as he stood up from the couch and stretched his arms.

“Oh no. Don’t tell me you missed another job because of me!” I said as I began to panic.

“No! I had today off. I just want to be home in time for dinner,” he said. I looked at the clock and saw that it was 7:00.

Yamada got his stuff, put on his shoes and walked out the door. I stood at my front door as I watched him leave. “Yamada,” I called out after he was already a few feet away from my house, “thanks for spending your day off to help me! It was… fun.” Wow. My brain must’ve had a spasm because that came out of nowhere.

“It was my pleasure,” he said as he smiled.

After he was gone I shut the door and turned around only to find Lucky just sitting there a couple feet away from me. He was staring up at me with an accusing look. “What are you staring at?” I asked with an annoyed tone.

“Bark!”

“I do NOT like him!”

“Bark, bark, bark!”

“I don’t care what you think! And he is NOT your Papa!” Was I seriously arguing with a dog? Yup. It’s official. I have officially lost my mind… I just hope that I don’t lose my heart as well…

LOL dirty chapter is dirty XD seriously this is one mess of a chapter XD At first the main point of this chapter was going to be about Lucky and I was going to have him jump and kick Kari on the back and make her fall on top of Yamada and have the two of them share an accidental kiss~ but after much thinking I couldn't really expand further than that. If i wrote that chapter it would've been super short and a bit boring... but serisouly I have no idea how it came to this kind of chapter XD

Anyways I was glad that I was able to put in a bit of comedy in this chapter because the next chapter is going to be a bit a serious...

By the way if your wondering what Lucky would look like, he would look like this...
