Survived 1st week

Feb 04, 2007 13:10

Well it's official... i survived the first full week of Woz back to work. *phew* The first few days were really hairy, but we've adjusted and the last couple days were actually pretty good.

I've joined a mothers group that is on Fridays. It's been good just hearing other mom's trials and tribulations. But i must admit, we do things so differentlly from most of them and quite frankly H doesn't do anything the way she's 'supposed' too... must be my child eh?

I find the more i know about how she's 'supposed' to be, the more i worry. Ignorance really is bliss sometimes. Hell, she's happy and healthy, so who cares if she's getting the 15 hours of sleep that she's supposed to get. (i reckon she's getting more like 12-13).

We just do everything differently. We co-sleep, we lie with her to get her to nap, I feed her on demand. We follow her lead. This will change eventually, but not at 3 months of age. When she's able to rationalize a bit, then we'll start bending her to our will *cackles evil like*. All in all, we're total hippy parents. What a surprise eh? LOL

OH, and i've taken the plunge. I officially enrolled back in uni this week. So as of the 26th, i go back to school Mon and Tues. *sigh* Part of me is so excited to be doing something for ME again. The idea of being independant for even a morning! Wow! Breastfeeding 3-4 hourly on average means my alone time has been... minimal at best. Part of me though is so worried, guilty ect.. about putting poor H in care. Mon. will be with my Mother in law and is a whopping 4-5 hours. Tues, however, will be in family day care (i hope- appt. with coordiator on Thurs) and is for approx. 5-6 hours. That will be harder. I think a big thing for me is the 'no one can raise her like we do' thing. *sigh* I logically know she'll be o.k., but it's still hard. The other silly bit is that she'll only be there for 10 weeks. I'm sure she'll survive!

Anyway, gonna run and enjoy some time while bub sleeps. Might even eat something... go figure!
