On August 10th, we'll leave for a less-than-epic road trip, but a road trip it is, so I'm excited. I'm excited enough to want to talk about it, so that's what I'm going to spend my time doing.
Here's the itinerary.
August 10 - Drive to Virginia to Shenandoah National Park. Camp on a cliff in the southern portion of the park. With any luck, see bears.
August 11 - Get up early to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway to Hot Springs, NC.
Night of August 11 - Soak it up in our hot tub filled with hot mineral water from the hot springs and watch movies in our private cabin by the Smokies.

August 14 - Camp at Carolina Beach State Park, NC. Battle insects. Drink beers with feet in the ocean.
August 15 - Take ferry to Ocracoke Island on the Outer Banks of NC. Laugh at Ocracoke dialect. Pretend to be pirates. Camp on the beach again. Drink more beers with feet still in the ocean.
August 16 and 17 - Drive to Jamestown and Williamsburg, VA. Take long, hot showers and sleep in air conditioning. Learn to play fife.
August 18 - Drive to Assateague Island National Seashore. Camp with ponies. Taunt ponies with fire. Hug ponies. Read ponies bedtime stories. Slip pony into backseat of car. Feed pony candy and promises of a new life.
August 19 - Drive home, taking Cape May Lewes Ferry just for the hell of it. Snorgle kittehs.
