We had to do a poem analysis for American Cultures with Mr. Salveter, and write a poem in a response of sorts to that particular poem of our choosing. I chose a famous one.
The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Instigation of Your Realization

The paths that we take,
And all the mistakes we make.
I can’t tell where I’m going,
I’ll have to go on never knowing.
I turn around the corner,
And I pray to find the sun a little warmer.
I hope to find the right way,
I know my heart will show me there some day.
In the end, you are consisted of your beautiful mistakes.
In the end, only a human has what it takes.
Toss away your sin,
And look within.
Many options will be present,
Yet few will ever be pleasant.
Take the path that allows you to understand your own beauty.
As a human, as a friend, to help is my duty.
