The semester will be hitting its third week starting tomorrow. Not quite back in the swing of things as of yet, which is to say I'd rather be up all night and sleeping during the day. My vespertine nature aside, things seem to be going well enough. I mean, physics is going to suck regardless, but the guy teaching it does appear like he actually teaches what he tests on as opposed to the last guy I had. I have to admit I'm already in 'as long as I get a C' mode though. Italian is pretty easy so far, but I think I have enough background in romance languages to get through any elementary course. I got 100 on my first quiz, and if they stay relatively similar, I can see that trend continuing. We haven't even conjugated 'to be' yet, for christ sakes. Cancer bio is pretty straight forward, and it is certainly leaving me wondering if you could get contact inhibition in a cancer cell if it would be normal and functionally immortal or not. I think our first real environmental micro lab is Wednesday. I also learned that Johnston actually went to Antarctica to do research on microbial life there, which is kinda crazy. I wonder how many people can say they've actually been to Antarctica, a step down from say, astronaut, sure, but still pretty impressive.
Seems like a lot of music is coming out this month. New Interpol tomorrow, Grinderman 2 the week after that and the new Bad Religion on my birthday. There may be more, but those are the ones off the top of my head. Hell, I even bought the limited edition tshirt to go with the aforementioned Bad Religion cd. Hopefully it's long enough to wear and not just hang in my closet. I've been rather addicted to old Afghan Whigs cds lately, most specificly Gentleman. Seriously, Marcy May's performance on
My Curse is amazing. It's my current
Rainy Mood song as well.
Finished up Lost and the Damned from the Episodes from Liberty City collection. I thought the story was interesting enough, but it's pretty amazing how janked up the controls feel in Grand Theft Auto after 2-3 years. I witnessed the digital dong in all its flaccid glory. Once I finish up Gay Tony, I'll be at 41 unique titles finished for the year. I'm also working on Castle Crashers and Valkyria Chronicles 2, which leaves me to come up with 9 more games to finish before the end of the year. I know I'll be buying Dead Rising 2, Fable 3 and Fallout: New Vegas for sure. I picked up Civ 5 on Steam already, but that's not really a game you finish. I'm gonna hit that 52, by god.
I think I'm coming down with some sort of sinus infection. I could live without that.
