A month late, but my summer class came and went with me getting an A in genetics. Oddly enough, I still got a shitty grade on the first test which I had pretty much already taken when I dropped it the first time. Weird how that works out. I wish more classes were available in the summer, honestly. I don't have time to get bored in 6 weeks like I do in a regular semester, and boy do I ever get bored and lose interest. Oh well, this should be the last year of the undergrad persuasion, fingers crossed. One of my professors mentioned a program at Cincinnati university hospital where you work there and they pay you to get your masters in like cytogenetics. I think looking at people's chromosomes and telling them how they're broken would be right up my alley. Well, at least moreso than teaching bio labs, though micro would be pretty fun. I suppose I could stand to get out of youngstown for a while, get a fresh perspective and hate somewhere else for a bit.
Since this console generation seems like it's going to carry on for the forseeable future, what with all the motion and 3d gadgetry I'm not investing in, I bought one of the newly redesigned 360s. I don't think it'll ever get preferred console status for me, but I can live on a pretty steady stream of cheap older exclusives for the dry season. Now if they'd only get rid of those stupid points I'd be less annoyed about buying content from live arcade. I am shooting for completing 52 unique titles this year. I'm up to
30 so far, so I'm a little behind on a game a week rate. The idea was more or less inspired by reading an article on kotaku by one of the writers that played over a hundred games but finished like 5. Some people have fitness goals for the new year, me, I hate bloggers. I hit 46 last year, so it's not outside the realm of possibility.
Probably going to misappropriate some student loan funds to buy a bass amp. I mean, I can sorta play Tyler, but it's hard to tell with just the sound from the vibration of the strings. The rest will probably go towards the tuition from spring and summer that's been sitting on my credit card for a while. Oh, and books. Though I might not need a fortune in those for once since I already have the physics book and I don't need one for environmental microbio. That just leaves italian and cancer bio. Maybe I'll luck out for once.
I saw the Sex Slaves a couple of fridays ago at what was once my old elementary school now turned bar. They put on a pretty good show and some of their songs are certainly
contagious. I should make the effort to go to more shows. I generally enjoy myself once I get over the annoyance having to put on pants and be around people of my own volition.
I always find the
favored careers on these things amusing. I mean, science, writing, music and professional murder are all things I'm interested in. Wait, what? So yeah, that's probably the past couple months.
