Could do it "Sumo Style" remove your opponent from the ring. Or go til one or the other relents. Usually thats at the point where the weapon is dropped and the real beating begins

I had wondered about this when you first wrote, the tournament of blades thing, wonder about a whole bunch of things I don't need to care about :)

But it sounds like fun and something close to what the SCA does or so I've been told by those that use to do it. Though they relied on padded armour and not padded weapons. But definitely is interesting...

Now you have me wondering what weapon would be right for me. A staff is two long and against anything other than a staff could be a problem... The sword and Axe I just don't like the feel when swinging them around and even a fake one wouldn't be all that great... hrm...
