The weekend so far...

I found a friend! or at least someone to pal around with locally, she showed me the Roaring Run trail. I've been wanting to go but I never could bring myself to go alone so when she texted to suggest taking a ride I packed up the bike and we had a nice ride for a few hours and then she showed me a water fall at the end of the one trail.

Then we rode partly up a branching trail, locked the bikes to a tree and she pointed out the suspension bridge and the part of the creek that you can swim in and the natural water slide. It was running high, fast and full of debris like the river, so swimming would have been a bad idea but it was still a lovely sight.

We went back to her place and decided to get cleaned up and meet at the Twisted Thistle for dinner, her boyfriend came along. It was really nice because we all had similar interests and no one felt left out of the conversation and they are both more open minded than the people I've met in town. It was nice to be able to talk and not worry about totally censoring myself and keeping to subjects like sports.

After a little bit they mentioned they were going to the Renaissance Faire the next day, I told them to check out Livingsocial.com as they were doing a special and the admission was half off... they asked if I'd like to come along. So after we left the restaurant I went home and had to dig out something to wear since they were planning on dressing up, I ended up having to quick make a pair of sage green poofy pants but they were simple and quick and added to some SCA garb and some dance costume bits I had a Ren Faire worthy outfit.

We met up with a few people they knew and it was a lot of fun. It was a warm day but The Washing Well Wenches www.washingwellwenches.com were great and it was fun to see their show again and I fell in lust twice... what is it about blondes with light eyes and well toned bodies?

I also saw a belly dancer that had an amazing tattoo on her back and was all enthusiastic when I asked her if I could take a picture and she even posed for me... I've been on the fence about getting one for ages because I have never seen any piece of art I want permanently on me but I'd consider something like this:

maybe I'll try it out in henna first.

I also think that I may be able to switch my yoga night so I can take the Tribal Dance class I want too, the teacher seems to think that there are a few of us including her that would prefer a different night. We'll see...

So I haven't made a move out of here but at least I'm finally finding ways to make it better here until I can leave, that should keep things going while I put aside money towards a moving fund and it gives me time to get rid of a lot of crap I've been dragging along from place to place and check out possible places while I still have the security of a job and health insurance... not the ideal situation but it's getting better and that's good for now! I've been trying to make the best of where I am and I think it's finally working.
