Unpleasant Surprise!
Yup! You guessed it! It's another painful and horrible rant. I'm sorry folks, I know I should be posting happy things. But until that happens, I need to get yet another thing off my chest, before I let it eat away at me.
Today I got a parking ticket... Why you may ask? Well, it says "no permit/decal displayed". Hmm, well that's curious, because my permit is hanging on my rear view mirror, where it's supposed to be. But yeah, there is another permit in front of it (my Disneyland parking permit) but it's not obstructing it totally. Because if you look at it head on, sure, it may look like only one permit. But if you even look at it at a slight angle, you can see the Cal State LA permit right behind it. I've never had a problem with this... ever. And today I got a ticket for it.
Now when I went to the Police Station to contest it, the lady was being a total bitch about it. Simply because I was flustered and frustrated, I said "My placard is on my rear-view mirror, so I don't know why I got this ticket". On top of that, I mistakenly said "Fall 06" instead of "Winter 07". Once I realized I was speaking slightly incoherently, I took a breath and said. "My hangtag is right behind my other hangtag, but you can still clearly see it. And it's Winter, not Fall, obviously." Well she snapped back with "Well you said placard, and then Fall... So how do I know that you're not lying? Because you changed your story on me."
WTF?!?! Honestly, when you're upset and frustrated, you can't expect me to say "My Winter 2007 hangtag" especially when the ticket says "No permit/decal". So she wanted to get me on a technicality. Well there was another girl that just said fill out the appeal form and you'll be contacted... Thank you! ... That's ALL I wanted... So I filled it out, and got out of there. But what's interesting is that it says "no permit", when it SHOULD have said "permit improperly displayed" (if anything, cause I've heard of that happening). So I honestly think that they'll dismiss it, because it's an incorrect description.
So that was my morning!!! Now I'm off to go for a short run and then head to Annie's for lunch before work tonight. Tomorrow's my last day at the rainforest. I don't think I'll be missed much. But that's alright.
