It's been two months since I've posted anything here. So, I guess it's about time I made use of the space that I've bloody paid for, right?!
Anyway, my reason for posting right now is two-fold. First off, it's pretty much to say that I'm not dead yet. I've been pretty busy with work and now that I kind of have a social life, that's been taking up some of my time as well. But that got me thinking... I have a social life now. I have friends that I see on a semi-normal basis. I go out on the weekends and hang with friends, socialize over a pint and just let the good times roll. Things are going pretty well in that respect. It wasn't until recently that I realized that about 5 years ago, I set a goal for myself... I wanted more friends. I wanted to get away from sitting in front of my computer for hours on end on a Saturday night and actually do something for a change. I didn't realize that those wishes have finally manifested into a reality for me. And I couldn't be happier. It's only taken a few years, but better late than never!!!
Now for some more interesting news.
Tomorrow, March 1, I'm starting the "new me" program. Ever since I started working for the Sheriff's Department, I've gained a staggering 72 pounds. That's just over 5 years of me sitting on my butt in front of computer screens doing nothing but eating and yelling at completely inane people over the phone.
It's about bloody time I did something about it.
For the next 28 days (and beyond, hopefully) I am going on a workout program that requires me to be active for at least 20 minutes a day, breaking into a sweat, as well as changing my eating habits in a way that will work for my and my somewhat sporadic lifestyle. I'm going to be using this journal as a log of my workout habits, my weight, and will be posting the dreaded 'before' picture. I'm kind of hoping that doing this will be the kick in the ass that I need to get into gear and finally start loosing some weight.
Let's see how this goes...
