My current favourites stand as thus:
Best Actor - Lenoardo DeCaprio (having only seen Blood Diamond from this category and being a tad bit smitten with him at the moment - he gets my vote)
Best Supporting Actor - Djimon Hounsou (seriously, see Blood Diamond)
Best Actress - Helen Mirren. She's certainly the favourite to win and she's very deserving for her performance. (Although when Meryl Streep says "Why is nobody read-dy" in the Devil Wears Prada, I get chills where there were no chills before.)
Best Supporting Actress - Rinko Kikuchi. Her performance in Babel as a desperately lonely deaf-mute teenager was so good!
Best Director - Stephen Frears - after seeing The Queen, I cannot think of anyone else. But if Martin Scorsese wins, I would still be satisfied - The Departed was excellent.
Best Movie. While I have yet to see Letters from Iwo Jima, I'm pretty sure that any of the picks this year could win and I would not be dissapointed. Yet I cannot deny my Queen. It just blew me away and made me forget that I wanted The Departed to win.
