I'm about 5-weeks-shy of finishing my first semester of my senior year of college. I go to a small, private, liberal arts college in northeast Florida. I'm a communications major, with an emphasis in print journalism, and a minor in political science. I'll graduate in April, if all goes to plan. I'm looking into journalism school for next fall, but honestly, the idea of applying to - and paying for - graduate school scares me so much that I haven't even started the process.
I'm unemployed as of now, after working for the first million five years of my college career as a photo tech in a large national company back home on the west coast of Florida. I miss the job, honestly, because it was the last time I remember really feeling as though I had a clue what I was doing. But, as hard as being away from home, and the majority of my friends and my boyfriend gets, I think am kind of sure believe this is where I need to be right now.
"what I really want to do is write or edit or produce." - I hadn't updated this About Me in two years, and I don't remember saying this, but it still holds pretty true. I'd love to be a Tina Fey-esque adult, in reality. She's my role model of what a successful, funny, admired, humble woman should be.
"I need to not live in Ten Miles Outside of If I Have To Live Here Forever, I'll Shoot My Self in the Head, USA." - I also said that two years ago, and it's true. I want to live in a large city that can actually afford me the opportunities I want. I'm contemplating applying to grad schools in Boston and DC, but they're a) very far away, and (more importantly), b) very expensive.
