She'll Destroy Us All Before She's Through

Tonight felt like it should have been a perfect summer night.

The temperature was just right. Humidity was only mildly oppressive. The moon was full. Not a hint of rain.

Stars.

Fireflies.

It seemed like the kind of night for the first, awkward hand holding, the first innocent kiss.

So I drove around downtown. Sunroof open. A/C off. Enjoying the night. Half wishing someone I've never even met would call.

I ended up at All Saints and fell asleep on the couch. I dreamt I wasn't alone there. It was amazing.

Got back in the car. Sunroof open. A/C off. Music blaring.

Came home to a silent house. The sound of TV filled the silence and filled me with nostalgia. Nick at Nite does that sometimes.
