DIY mannequins

aryn and i have been into making our own costumes lately, and starting to sew our own clothes has been thoughts. only, when thinking, i noticed trying to pin the cloth to me will be very difficult... so instead of paying $50+ on female body figures, that probably wouldnt fit our shapes anyway, we decided to make our own. we search and found this site: http://www.threadsmagazine.com/item/3659/clone-yourself-a-fitting-assistant

Here are the pictures of our experience:

a few tips while taping:
use shorter strips of tape, dont think youcan wrap your whole body in one big swooop.
we liked the idea of putting one layer horizontal, then doing a layer vertical ..then back horizontal
you can use your scissors to cut the tape if it's not laying right... if you cut small slits, it's useful
also, under the arms, i ripped the tape in half  first and fit it under and tape up the sleeve.
shoulder pads for boobies worked nicely, i bought the 3/4" thick
we taped the boobies up, placed the hanger/wood piece in..then taped it up, then stuffed.lol  yeah! haha

overall, it was good times. i still have to finish stuffing mine.i didn't buy enough, so im sure there will be more images uploaded of the both of them together <3
