Penguins need lovin too!!
So, Sunday was our 1 year anniversary!!
We went to Seaworld, and took the tour to pet a penguin.
We were a little later arriving, since the hair and beauty show was causing traffic backups in both directions on I-drive.
Oh well!
We got there, and our tour started at 11 am. For most of the tour, the guide was talking, and we got to stand around a lot of concrete. We did see the baby harbor seals, and a sleeping polar bear.
Finally the penguin portion arrived. The keeper put on this apron thing, plucked up one of the penguins, and sat him in her lap. He took this as a clue, and started going at it on her lap. Anyone who's seen a bird mating, knows it's already funny to watch, but this was hilarious. However, seeing that she wanted him in a good mood for us, she let him finish. He was indeed very relaxed afterwards. Bryan went first, and then I: the penguin was very soft.
The rest of the day we just did our own thing, and got to see all the animals. The Dolphin nursery was cute, and I touched a dolphin in the main cove. We also went through the penguin encounter several times, which was very fun. Penguins are very cute to watch.
Bryan broke his diet for our anniversary, so he relished eating his penne pasta, and macaroni and cheese. We also picked up a Jumbo eclair at the bakery.
Bryan got a new penguin shirt, and he got me one of the oysters with a pearl in it. It was a beautiful, pure white female. A true treasure!
Well, that's the jist of a wonderful day. All in all, we spent 9 hours there, and were very tired once we got home. Needless to say, I slept in a little this morning...
