Hey, so today was movie day. It was hot & humid enough that spending time in the air conditioned theater didn't seem that bad. Q & I watched Stardust, Rush Hour 3 and Superbad. The movies weren't that great but there was enough entertainment value to make it an ok way to spend the day. Superbad made me realize I am really uptight. I do not think kids should be doing the stuff they did in the movie and I do not think cops should do the things they did in the movie either. But it was cute in some ways and funny because it wasn't real.
Then we walked outside and Newport on the Levee had Eight Days a Week (a Beatles tribute band) playing.
http://www.eightdaysaweekband.com They weren't bad. I enjoyed listening to them and they were pretty talented despite the fact that the music is not their day job. They wore Beatles costumes and everything. They even have the accents and vocal quality down pretty well for when they talk between sets. It was cool.
And the weather started to cool down. Apparently, it had rained while we were in the theater but it had stopped by the time we got out. Because we were on the river, we felt a nice wind and it was comfortable. Because there had been a storm, it was beautiful to watch the clouds, and the sunset was more interesting.
Yeah, ok, so I'm a bit of a vegetable today since the activities were all fairly passive, but I'm ok with that for now.
