Made a Dreamwidth Account
The impetus was the poll on the T&B Anon Meme where they were voting to decide whether to make the move to DW or not.
I'd been thinking about making a DW account for a while actually; it's just that I was kind of wary of the whole "invite-code" thing that Dreamwidth requires for you to sign up for an account there. But I just learned that they're having a free account creation period until the end of the year, so I went up signed up just a few minutes ago.
It's not only that the whole comment system makeover on LJ has been annoying me, but that I'd been reading about abuse and shitty customer service from LJ since quite a while ago. Which is why I don't post anything even remotely personal on my journal. "Personal" meaning details that could be used to track me, like descriptions about where I live and such. Especially since I'd read about the stalking and poor treatment that this individual talks about here: http://shiokku.dreamwidth.org/363.html
Not that I think that anyone regularly reads my journal anyway since I'm such an infrequent updater and have moved most of my fandoming to tumblr.....but I do like to talk about things, even if I'm the only person who ever sees what I write. And I'd rather talk about things in a place where I feel safe.
I don't think I'll be making the full move yet. I might try crossposting once I get DW figured out a bit more. The DW account is more of a back-up plan at this point, in case LJ goes cock-up, which I wouldn't rule out as a possibility...especially after viewing this prototype of the new LJ: http://manonon.livejournal.com/6816.html
