Hello there, thanks for your post. It is insightful and interesting. I'm a substitute teacher and your post caught my eye. I'm thinking that the Writer's Block's question means what kind of teachers have we experienced that weren't good, but we'd love to confront them about the things they've done wrong? Because I had a few teachers that weren't good teachers, it didn't mean they weren't good human beings. Their hearts were in the right place, but they suffered as teachers because the kids ate them alive. Being a teacher's daughter, and knowing a little bit how things worked in those schools, I tried to pull the teacher aside and tell him that he seriously needed to get a backbone and find a way to get the kids under control without resorting to punishments all the time, because it was obvious that his methods weren't working. He told me that he knows, and it was something I shouldn't worry about, which I respected. I felt so bad for him, it was awful to see him go through all that (a kid threw an egg at him; he got revenge, which got him fired for it). He was a good guy, just... He just wasn't a good teacher, he couldn't handle it. It was unfortunate that we didn't learn anything in the class, because he tried to do more punishments than doing actual teaching. Is it truly the kids' fault? He really could have reached out to them like you, but he was just... not good.

I'm just saying. Not going against what you are saying, at all.. I just want you to be aware that many of us have had varied experiences, and while they are negative, we cannot ignore the fact that there are some teachers who aren't that great. I'm thinking that whoever wrote the question for the Writer's Block thing wasn't being very specific, and I highly doubt it was to antagonize teachers like you. It left it very open and can leave one to think that they can attack perfectly good teachers--these are probably students that got into trouble with them.

However I do agree with you wholeheartedly. I was inspired by my own mom to teach, and right now I am in college and trying to work on getting my teaching degree. To gain experience I've just started as a substitute teacher. It's a wonderful experience. You sound like you have a very beautiful heart. You're the type of teacher I look up to. I hope you have a great day today. God bless!
