FFXIII Rec: The Kids Are Alright
It would be disingenuous of me to pretend that I found this story on my own in order to rec it. I was actually directed towards this story by in_a_quandary and I balked at the idea of reading it because the description had the word "Vampire" in it.
To be honest, I'm tired of Vampires bleeding their way into absolutely every fandom. They aren't that interesting, and they've been done to death. I can safely say that this story was done very well, and is not what you think. (Or it's not what I thought, anyway.)

The characterization in this piece will make you happy you gave it a chance. The vampire is not the sparkling, sulking kind from Twilight. There is gore here people, and morally questionable actions. (A lot!) It's worth the read, and the praise. There's no pairing.
