What a dream...

I had a dream last night where I was in this resort place with my sister (Katie)and her boyfriend (JC). We didn't have a room there, but we just kind of hung out there anyway. The resort had this big gated-in pool. The pool was lovely with clear blue, water and decorated with tropical flowers along the picket fence. The only part that wasn't fenced off was near the wall of the resort which was a cool blue color. JC, Katie, and I splashed around a bit, laughing and doing the usual pool antics, until a woman called out to us and demanded that we get out of the pool. She was a big lady with jaw-length, frizzy hair which was brown with grey streaks through it. The navy blue swim suit that she wore was fairly tight on her flabby, wrinkly body. She lined us up against the blue wall like criminals with me on one end, JC on the other, and Katie shifting uncomfortably in the middle. She looked at us up and down. It was obvious she didn't have much patience with kids. Especially teenagers. She barked at us with her nose only a half an inch from ours. Here breath had a potent garlicky odor to it and I wrinkled my nose. Well, I guess she took that as an insult, because her sunken eyes widened and said "Get out! You don't belong here. If you don't have a room, you're NOT allowed on this property, you stupid, goddamned kids!". My lips curled on the right side of my mouth and I simply shrugged off her comment by saying. "Fine. We'll get a room. Then we'll use the pool." Well, she seemed to not like that idea. She looked at me with fire -LITERALLY fire (remember, this is a dream, kids)- in her eyes. She looked directly at me and gritted her yellow teeth while saying "Room or not, your not getting to this pool ever. I say who come and who goes and the only way your getting into this pool is over my dead body." We stared at eachother for a minute. Deadlocked on eachothers eyes until I was snapped back into reality (Or, at least, dream reality) by Katie pulling on my arm and saying, "Let's go." in a mousy voice, which is alien to my sister.

We went outside the fence and down this light grey cobble stone path. It broke of into four different directions, but we seemed to know where we were going. We down the path that was left of the middle and after a short walk through a lush, green forest-type area, we made our way to the main office. It didn't look like much. Maybe 20ftX20ft in all. It was small and light grey with old oak stairs leading to a door with chipping red paint. I remember admiring the quaintness of it. How is might be mistaken for a tiny house, if not for the black and white sign reading "MAIN OFFICE" that hung over the door. We walked in and spotted and old, chubby fellow at the desk place over to the right of the door. He reminded me of one of those Sheriffs in those old Western movies. His brown, cowboy hat hung over his eyes while his aging, black boots rested on his desk. His chin was resting on his chest in a position which looked like he had drifted off to sleep. I sighed and turned to leave the room when I hear a low, gruff voice spilling from under that hat.
"What can I do for you guys?"
I turned as he lifted his hat from his brow and smiled warmly. I smile back and asked for two rooms(One for me and another for Katie and JC). He let out a grunt while his shifted his legs off the desk and reached under it and pull out too red cards. They looked like credit cards except there was a hole punched though it and had a key chain ring dangling from the hole. He said $3.00 and smiled again. I started to reach for my pants pocket until I remembered I was still in my swim suit. JC, who was apparently holding everyones clothes, reached into his blue jeans and handing three blue dollars to the old cowboy. He tilted the tip of his hat as he rose his legs onto the desk again and said "Have a nice stay, darlin'" with a smile.

What came after next is a bit hazy. As a matter of fact, I really don't remember it all... The next thing I remember is I'm walking down a hallway. The walls are covered with blue and white tile. I was afraid of something. I was about to be discovered by something bad. I believe it was the lady at pool. The one with fire eyes. But I just kept walking trying not to be seen. It was hot and muggy, I remember. Strands of hair were sticking to my forehead and brushing it away didn't do any good. I finally come upon a shower. The curtain was plasticy and the same pale blue color of the tile that the building seemed to be made of. I get into the shower, thinking I can hide in there. My eyes facing the front of me. I realized there was a chip in the tile. I pull it off and noticed a plastic handle. What? A Handle? I pulled on it. The tiles seemed to spit in two. The new tile doors opened in front of me, no more than 3X3ft. Inside was dark, but it's obvious what's inside. A smooth, blue water slide. I climbed into the small passage gripping the handle with my left hand. I figure, if I'm going down, I might as well close the door behind me. I slid down. I tried to suppress my giggles, but that was easier said than done. I finally land. No. Wait. I crashed. At the end, I knocked down some kind of barrier and stumble out onto cement. I get up and look around me. I'm at the pool. the barrier I knocked down what was a little part of the blue wall. I hastily fixed the panel with what was once a part of the wall. Being as careful as possible. I didn't want anyone to know about the side. That was too thrilling to share. After I was satisfied by the way the wall looked whole again, I looked around. Yup. It was the pool alright. The very pool I was kicked out of that morning. And at that thought, I laughed. It was hardy and felt good. The kind of laugh that hurts your ribs, but you don't care. I laughed and jumped in. Swimming and laughing.

It gets hazy again, but I somehow end up in some performance place. There's a show going on and we're in it. I look through a locker that's sandwiched between others against the wall. It's blue paint chipping. There's a panic raising inside of me. It turns out that the wet swimsuit that I had carelessly thrown in there has made the dress for the competition soaked. I could feel the hot tears well up inside me as I apologize endlessly to Katie and JC. They calm me down with kind words and I gave Katie my wallet to buy me a new dress at the Gift Store and she hurries to do so. When she returned, it turned out she bought three new costumes. Mine was a knee-length black dress that draped off my shoulders. It had a wonderful Spanish flair to it that made me feel sultry and irresistible. My hair hung down in a cascade of tight curls with a black flower hanging loosely on the left side. Katie was in a white dress. A bit longer than mine. Hers gave me the impression of Marilyn Monroe. Her hair was also curled (Which is unnatural. Katie has straight hair) and up in a lose bun. She held a flower in her hair as well. It was a white flower and was on her right side. JC's suit was interesting. Half back, half white. It was as if someone took two suits, split them down the middle and sewed them together. The black was on his left side and the white was on his right. And a matching fedora hat rested upon his head. Needless to say, we looked good. We entered the larger part of the building. It looked old and used. The auditorium seats were old and rickety. The once vibrant blue upholstery on the seats had become a dull blue grey. And the curtain that hung loosely on the stage had become a dull red. The Velveteen Fabric was worn and dusty. We didn't seem to mind that much, though. We just walked up on the stage and got into our positions. Katie on the right. Me on the left. JC in the middle. The music picked up. It was a salsa. Or tango. I don't know, but it was the kind of sultry music that turn people cheeks red just from listening to it. JC and I danced and I started to sing. I don't remember the words, but I remember the feeling of heat behind them. JC's right side was to the audience, so we were just two black figures dancing against a red background. He turned and I backed way. The music faded into a slower, more romantic sound. The started dancing with Katie now with his white side showing to the audience. Katie began to sing with the feeling of love behind every word. The music had turned turned sultry again and it was my turn to dance once more. And after it went back to Katie for the second time, the music seemed to merge. Not just lustful. Not just romantic. But something that was both. God, I wish I could remember it now, but the music died when I woke up. But he started to dance with the both of us, while Katie and I sang at eachother. It seemed to be like a heated debate almost. The song ended as soon as Katie and I sang out the same line. We stood there on the stage JC in the middle looking distraught and Katie on I on our proper sides looking away from eachother. The crowd applauded generously and we took our bows. A thin man came on stage. He had a top hat and a suit with tails. His thin lips smiled under his handle bar mustache. He opened his mouth to say something then..... My alarm clock went off.

This is, by far, the most detailed dream I had in a long while. To be honest, though, I really didn't expect it to be THIS long when I thought to type it out. Heh, I wasn't even planning to use lj cut when I started writing. I don't know. I just found it interesting and I want to remember it. Read it if you want to. I doubt you will though. Like I said, it's long.

For the record, I started writing this at 11:35... It's now 1:36. o.o
