Oh, such a good movie

I saw Love, Simon today in the theater. I had to drive 25 miles to the next biggest town because it wasn't in our small theater. Plus, this being the rural upper Midwest, I'm not sure how much enthusiasm there would be for it here to warrant pushing out the current blockbusters the theater gets in.

And that's why this movie is so damn important. People here, especially the LGBTQ+ kids we have here, need to see it, too.

Anyway, it was only showing in one of the theaters in the multi-plex, and at first, I thought I might be the only one there to watch the noon showing of the show. But, eventually, a few others came in, three couples. And here's the thing. Out of the 6-7 people there, I bet four of us were over 60. Which makes my heart just happy that older, rural people in this conservative area were there to see this show. We were all laughing at the funny parts and were very quiet during the touching, emotional ones. It was a wonderful show.

I so hope it does well so that the suits at the movie studios will put more movies like this out there.

Now I have the intense need to reread the book, Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda.
