AAARRRGHHHH!!!!

Sorry, just had to get that out of my system. I have spent the last two days in the worst traffic I have ever seen, and being a courier I have gotten to spend about 12 hours a day in it. It's been four days since there was actually any snow falling here in DC, but the traffic has gotten worse all week, I guess since so many people stayed home the first half of the week. Yesterday I had a bunch of stuff to deliver downtown during the evening rush hour, and I averaged about 12 minutes per block - a few blocks took me over 20 minutes to get through. At 5:30 I was a few blocks away from one delivery on Connecticut, and I couldn't get it delivered by 7:00, when they closed -I had to deliver it this morning. Obviously it would have only taken a few minutes to deliver it by foot, but there was simply no place to park - even illegally. Just huge snowbanks everywhere. And lots and lots of cars, going nowhere. Today was almost as bad - the only thing that sort of saved it was not having to deliver downtown during rush hour. You know things are really, really bad when you start using George Costanza's father's "Serenity Now!" line from Seinfeld because you've used every other coping mechanism at least 3 times already! And when you are so traumatized that you write in your livejournal for the first time in over a year...
